I was wondering if there was anyone out there that applied last fall that could tell us when they learned the fate of their application? I was just wondering how long we (Fall 2009 applicants) would have to wait until we hear back from the admissions office. Thanks and good luck to everyone else!
If you have a D i would recommend retaking the course so it doesn't show up on your transcript as a D just as a retake. I had a W or two on some classes, not because I was failing, but because I didn't ended up needing them or because it was a summer class and I wasn't learning the material like I thought I should know it. They'll tell you that retakes don't really matter unless you have like 12 of them and when you write your essay you can explain why you had to retake some classes. Definitely go to the information session and they'll explain everything that you need to know. I went to ones at the Baltimore and Shady Grove Campus.
Does anybody have any idea as to how gpa are calculated if one changes major? I currently changed my major to nursing, i was wondering if admissions take the gpa you earned from past major and nursing major or do they only look at the cumulative gpa of the prerequisites and science major.
I'm coming from 695 west and going down to 83 south.
Questioin regarding shoes - The paper that they gave up states that the shoes be oxford-type or athletic type made of all white leather. Now, does this mean that the soles mean to be white as well?
Any particular recommendation for shoes for men as well? Thanks.
Agrippa: i plan on taking the light rail to school. coming from 97/695/295. the monthly pass is the same as monthly parking pass and you save on gas, wear and tear, driving in snow/sleet, etc. i hear there is a shuttle that goes from the station to school otherwise its a 3 block walk. i drove in last week to check out the bookstore and it took me about 30 min to find a parking spot. doing a dry run tomorrow on the light rail train with son and niece. ill keep you posted.
Traffic will suck in Baltimore because it can be really congested, but the good news is UMB isn't that far from 395 so you won't be stuck in traffic forever..... That one of the reasons I moved to baltimore.... I live in Silver Spring and the commute would have killed me..... As for the shoes I am a dude also and I'm not sure what to get...... Probably just plan white shoes and the uniform is just for clinicals and I think labs.....

Depends when it happened. If it happened years ago and your recent grades are ok, I would think that they would take your recent grades into consideration as evidence of your current academic abilities. If it is recent, then yes, I imagine it wouldn't be good.
But like I've said, this is all pure speculation. I have no idea what the standards are that they take into consideration.
