I am an addict

I am addicted to golf, and more golf.

and Sue this woman who has had more than 400 sexual partners, what does she do for a living, just curious.

Im not sure I even remember how to roll one anymore, but I guess there are pipes for it that can be used

If it is legalized and taxed, it would bring some nice tax revenues in that Bushie could use to pursue his desires for more warring.

For medicinal purposes you have my vote. I don't know how many pills that I pass that are probably far worse, yet they have everyone's seal of approval.

I think it should be legalized, and I would love to see more nursing research regarding its use for medicinal purposes. And about that "gateway drug" argument? The reason it's a gateway drug is because it's illegal, and unless one has the luxury of having a place to grow it themselves in their own home, one has to go through a drug dealer to get it.

I am for it. The thing of it is that, at least where I live in Humboldt, a lot of people grow and sell it anyway. Might as well make it legal so the state can get tax dollars from it. Also, why was it made illegal in the first place? I see it no worse then alcohol...as far as how it impairs you physical abilities. I think this is alot like the issue with condoms, kids are going to do it anyway, might as well give them something to protect themselves with. If it is legal it should be regulated some way as so it does not ge out of hand.

And how many people are going to inform the IRS they are growing it in their house or back yard?

I'm for it 100%. Do you know how many people are sitting in Federal Prisons that got totally railroaded by the system for having pot? It's sickening. Many child molesters don't get the lengthy sentences that people charged with possession of pot do. The system is ridiculous. Legalize pot, regulate it and tax it. Marijuana is a huge cash crop. For many countries it is their biggest cash crop! Let people have their businesses and carry on with their lives.

What it comes down to is a choice. Just because it is legal doesn't mean you have to smoke it. If any drug should be criminalized it should be alcohol. I've seen more accidents and domestic abuse victims from booze in one month than I've ever seen r/t pot in 8 years!

...and NO, I do not smoke pot.

I said only for medical purposes but I was really on the fence between medical usage and total legality.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think farmers get taxed for the portion of their crop that they keep & consume for themselves. That leaves only the crop that is distributed & sold, which is always taxed.

In any case, I doubt we'd see a huge boom in pot growing if it were legalized. Outdoor growers would keep on keeping on, and indoor growers would simply go outdoors. Growing that stuff is a pain in the ass.

Since marijuana can impair judgement and lower inhibitions, I think it should be used for medicinal purposes only. I wouldn't want someone on the highway or operating equipment high as the sky.:)

Hey All,

I would just like to though out this scenario. You're late for work its 12midnight so you go to McDonalds drive threw for a healthy meal :chuckle . Not only is the car in front of you full of stoned teenagers but the guy taking the order is also stoned. You aint making it to work that night. So think twice before you make your finale decision.

Even after saying that, I am still for the legalization of it. But I also don't have a problem with an employer having a 0 drug tolerance policy.

pee in the cup, and test positive for marijuana... the presumption is that you've got a terrible drug problem right up there with crack cocaine use. not to mention that you'll be stealing drugs on the job.

in my state, they'll put you through a rehab program, complete with spur of the moment piss tests. you can get tossed out of the profession altogether.

exacly how many potheads have you dealt with where pot was a major health issue? i can't think of one. i'm not saying that smoking is good for your lungs, because it isn't. however, cigarettes are legal, and marijauna should be as well.

how many drunks have you dealt with where alcohol was a major health issue? tons, and we all know it. so why is it legal to burn your brain on alcohol?

Addictive personalities WILL find ways to circumvent the law but to make it available to everyone else? Everyone else to whom that law making it illegal was the last line they would never cross? Then the line disappears and they get pulled into making selfish decisions?

There is no way of proving it either way, but I suspect if someone's going to use it, the law is the last thing they are thinking about; but I'll admit that when I made the choice not to drink, smoke or get high I did so because I valued my future more than how I could have felt at that instant, so perhaps I'm just projecting.

If it is ok for an adult to get the anti-nausea effects of smoking pot, why not a 3 year old?

Drug legalization (not just pot) for me isn't a cut and dry issue. The only problems I have with drugs being illegal is that the users go to jail/prison. Now if these facilities had rehab programs I'd be all for it, but truth is that drugs are even more readily available in the prisons than on the streets. The other problem I have with the issue is that there are soooooooo many innocent victims because of drugs. Granted there will still be the innocent victims of the hopped up meth addict (for example) if drugs were legalized, but I believe the innocent lives lost from gang violence would be greatly reduced.

Having said this, though, I find your statement quoted above to be a very compelling argument against legalization. I skimmed all of these posts and unfortunately not one person responded to that point. Perhaps that's because there is no agrument against what you said.

And having said this, I highly encourage some people who act as though they have an ear of corn shoved up their rear to partake of copious amounts of cannabis. So in other words I need them to get giggly high so I can cope with them.

So you see, I go back and forth.
