Maricopa Spring 2016 Block 1 students

Published

So we all should have heard weeks ago about our placement now I wanted to start a place for the preparation for Block 1.

I know Fall semester still needs to start and end before we can even get to block 1, but hey I'm to excited.

How is everyone doing getting situated for the universitys?

When is everyone thinking about starting the stuff that needs to be done for Maricopa (I.e. medical papers, titer tests, CPR)?

Omg yes! And you know these 2.5months will fly by so quick. I am getting so nervous to think that our life is about to change, literally. :nailbiting:

Huh, in my email from GateWay, they didn't mention anything about needing a flu shot just to register. Of course I'm getting one before Jan though!

I need to get my flu shot still. I haven't gotten anything from Estrella besides my original email with the orientation date and health docs. I was told our advisor would register us for the classes and that our immunization records would be uploaded to the background check website (but still waiting for instructions on that, they said they would send it out).

I was told the same thing about the health docs going on the background check site.

Yes they will be uploaded to a website, but you will need to do it. That's what MCC told me anyway. Keep because you will need it to upload yourself.

And it states on the vaccinations page, if it's flu season you need to have it to register. I had to get one and then go back in order to register.

It's free with insurance at cvs. Or about $15-20 at most places. :)

Anyone with GCC register yet?

I think the confusion here is with the flu shot. I just registered at GateWay and I did not have to have a flu shot in order to register. Yes, you do need to have one before classes start, but at least at GWCC it was not necessary to register. Also, yes, keep a copy of all of your documents. I keep all my hard copies in a folder and the scanned ones in a specific folder on my computer.

Exactly. Each school is different I am sure.

MCC was a requirement to register.

Plus.. I felt why wait till Jan to get the vaccine? It's flu season already. But its everyone's own choice and 1 more thing to worry about right before school. Lol

Yeah, it'd be kinda nice if all the schools had the same policies that way there is no misinformation!

I'm not waiting until January, personally. I haven't had a chance to get it yet because my 3 month old has been sick. Babies, man, they eat up your time!

I just received an email today for GCC that registration opens this wednesday! We register ourselves.

Mrs.Bookworm, did you ever get placed??

Mrs.Bookworm, did you ever get placed??

I did! They didn't have a specific cohort for ASU/GCC evening and I'm assuming that's why I wasn't being placed. They said there was three or fours us so they just placed us with ASU/GCC traditional. GCC knows that we are evenings though.
