I just submitted my application with a time stamp of 1/7/16 159. I see there are alot of really long threads from last year, I wanted to start one for this year and have a place for pre-nursing students to post with information thats up-to-date.
What is the point of a time stamp of it completely random? I have beem waiting for a year
The timestamp is what they use to place students in the associate program. They use that along with the school preferences you've picked. For example, if there is an opening at SCC, the program looks for the earliest time stamp WITH that school selected as their preference.
someone with a timestamp of 8:00 who does not have SCC selected will get passed up for someone with a timestamp of 10:00 who has SCC as one of their options.
CEP is really popular right now. In the past couple semesters, anyone who applied and met requirements for CEP would get in. Looking over the boards it seems this past round they had too many CEP applicants to place. That means the number of spots for non-CEP students is going to be extremely low and not many people will be placed off the waitlist because of it.
At Estrella, we only had 2 open spots for waitlist in my cohort. It's not uncommon for GCC to be like that as well. It was the one of two schools I was willing to go. Had I kept on the waitlist and not done CEP, I would have waited a LONG time to get in if they were only placing 2 students off the waitlist each semester. My timestamp was from August (October maybe?) 2014 and I am in block 1 now as a CEP student.
I know it's hard when they tell you one thing and something else happens. But the wait may very well be high again due to CEP being so popular and filling many spaces. That's nothing official, but just my guess from what I've been reading on here and my experience on the waitlist.
Did placement run today?
Its not "running" like it has in the past because the system is down. I called the hotline today and it seems that they are going through the list and emailing people individually. As they receive deferments and/or the deadline passes to accept placement without response and more spots open up, they will continue placing. Its going to take a lot longer this way I think since its all being done manually.

I think it was Aug 6th, I wrote it down somewhere but can't find it. I thought I would be able to look on the website but since there isn't one right now...
