Hi folks
you may find that you need to have a mantoux test for your facility done before you leave for the usa, if you are based in the midlands you can have it done in birmingham, i think the cost is about £50
If anyone wants the number feel free to pm me
my agency gave me the number of a 'middle man' who charged me £15 just for giving me the number, so i think its only fair that i share it with you all to save a few quid
cheers
It was a dead disease in the UK and then the immigrant population increased and the disease came back-of course may would debate that it was never gone.
that is now why they have changed policy and TB is no longer given in secondary school unless deemed a risk community, but non caucasians even mixed origins are given the jab at birth
i know this will be a problem for both me and my 2year old as we've both had bcg's at birth (all babies in dublin are offered it at birth). Although I've only started the emigration process is it better to wait to get mantoux and CXR until were going or is it worth it to have these things on file now?

No wait, your baby wont need it. She will need proof of all her innoculations at medical, thats all. When you get along the long road and go to London for your embassy interview you little baby doesnt need to be with you it is only the older kids;)
i dont need the mantoux for immigration just the chest xray, the mantoux is for my job and it has to be current, if you do either of these too soon you may be wating your money as you may need them again
OGP will send you the paperwork for the test which the clinic has to stamp and then you have to return about 48 hours later for test to be read.

yeah am going today am soooo looking forward to it lol
jaynie, madwife is right you child definately doesnt need it, you may need it later on, just wait until it is requested though if you do it too soon you will just have to have it done again
do you know what? there are an awful lot of hidden costs to this immigration lark
fingerprints for licence (nursing, not driving licence lol) £30
matoux test plus reading test £50
blood tests for employment £80
notary for social security £30
vaccinations £150
visa photos £40
travel to london 4 times for agency, twice for immigration (hate to think how much all that cost with hotels etc)
i mean, things like the medicals, visa processing etc you expect its the little things here and there that add up, and not just cost its a pain in your backside arranging all these things as those of you already there will know!
I dunno if they do it in the UK, my husband was apolice officer and he hasnt heard of police officers doing it.Of course that doesnt mean anything and if you find out they do-let me know so I may murder him lol
I made enquires and they didn't but had to find someone who notorised and after several phone calls to solicitors found one who did and cost me £20
