Macomb Community Graduates 2012-13

So, I said I would start this one after orientation so we could all have one thread to talk about things under instead of 10. What did everyone think of orientation? Any un-answered questions? And what start date is everyone requesting? Yay for the new uniforms/prices!

Wow - I honestly had no idea as to how much extra money the program costs but I am sure it will be well worth it!

I went to the bookstore and tried the scrubs on this week. They were much nicer than I expected and the material is really soft. I had thought about trying to find different pants but I liked the ones they had and I think they would be hard to match because of the material. I placed my order so now I can check one more detail off of my list. I did go online to the Gelscrubs website to see if they had any other choices but they did not. Also, the tops have 5 pockets but the website's seemed like they only had 1 pocket.

I am excited for the start date letters to come - hopefully they will be here by the 21st!

My financial aid letter came today, but I was so excited thinking it was the start date letter. Oh well. Good news from financial aid, so thats a plus. Are we sure that the start letters are going to be sent out soon?

They better be, I have had enough of all this waiting! I am still waiting for my financial aid determination also. I'm glad I have a class this semester, at least it's something else to focus on. I keep telling myself to enjoy this time because I know once the program starts I won't have much free time!

Yeah, I've got 2 this semester - geography and history. not too excited about them at all, and I feel like if its not nursing related, I dont really care about it right now! but I know I need to get it out of the way for my BSN. I take it no one has called the school and asked about the letters then??

Still waiting on my financial aid too....did you guys apply through the school? I applied through Macomb but will have to apply for an additional loan through a bank or sallie mae because I want to take out more than what school will cost. Is that what you guys did? Please......info appreciated :)

I applied the day of our orientation, and got my info today. I was awarded a Pell grant, so I have no info on loans for you, sorry. But I assume you should be getting your info by tomorrow?

I got my letter yesterday regarding my Stafford loan. I didn't get the full amount that I requested so I wil be applying for the Sallie Mae Smart Option Loan. http://go.salliemae.com/smartoption/?pin=index

I checked into it several months ago and it seems like the best option for me but I don't know if it's what you're looking for.

I'm so glad I read this before I checked my mail! When I saw the letter from Macomb I knew not to get too excited. Still, I was glad to get the Financial Aid letter, one less thing to wait for!

Hi everyone my name is Rebecca,

I am so excited that I got in, and cannot wait to start. I keep checking the mail everyday in hopes that the start date letter is here. I do not think I will be starting before March I was ranked in the 140's but emailed I would like to start asap. I am just happy to get this chance It could of been worst, I could have been denied. I just keep telling myself "don't rush the summer enjoy it whileYou can" I think we all know this is not going to be easy. But nothing is that is worth anything. :) Congratulations to all I can't wait to meet some of you, who knows maybe some of us will be starting together. good luck to all of you starting in August. I will be checking back in hopes for details:) We just need to enjoy our free time now while we still can without homework and test hanging over our heads!

I did not sign up for the BLS, because I am not sure when to take it yet. I do not think I am starting in August, so I think I should wait until I get my letter? What do you think? That way it will not expire before I even need it.
