  1. Call the Nursing office. As soon as the letters were in the mail I was able to go in and get my acceptance and ranking. They gave me a copy of the letter & I was able to pay to reserve my seat. My letter came the next day in the mail. Good Luck to you all! I remember how hard it was to wait!
  2. Just thought you might want to know that once letters are sent out, you can go to the registration office and they will tell you if you were accepted and what your ranking was. I did that last year!
  3. I started in Aug, just wanted to know how it was going for the oct starts!
  4. Hey October starts! How did your first week of classes go?
  5. I agree with CorazonDeOro, Macomb Community College has the best nursing program. I did check out St. Clair also and they too have a great program but I would have had to pay out of county rates. If you will be living in Macomb County (I assume your husband would be at SANG?) then MCC offers the lowest tuition. I don't know first hand but have heard that Baker's tuition is much higher. Try this link: http://www.macomb.edu/Current+Students/Educational+Offerings/Associate+Degrees/Program+Descriptions/Nursing.htm Good Luck to you!
  6. It's going well. All my instructors are very nice and supportive, a welcome change from the tone of the seminar! Assignments are not overwhelming and the labs are very interesting. I am having a hard time deciding what I need to focus on in terms of studing, there is a lot of info dumped on us! Only 3 weeks til midterms! Yikes! I would advise you to get some practice with vital signs, watch some Taylor videos, and start looking at assessment techniques. So far I love it and you will too! Oh and ENJOY the free time you have left!
  7. I've been checking too. I wonder if they will wait until the end of the semester to post them.
  8. We were told to wear scrubs the second week and check the 1st day handout for the days the nurse pak is needed.
  9. Hey Joe! Glad you joined!:)
  10. UC1 is the same building that we had orientation in. Check the map on page 145 of the schedule of classes, it shows the building.
  11. That's about as far as I got, looking at the website. I was so busy getting all the rest of the things we needed done that it did seem like our start date came very fast!
  12. I'm starting to get nervous too! Maybe all us August starts can post what we will be wearing the first day so we can find each other. I am looking forward to meeting everyone! I don't think there were any restrictions on color. I was looking at orange but decided on navy blue.
  13. Welcome wadie04! I wish I was at Mount Clemens but I'll be at the Henry Ford by center campus.
  14. Macomb Community College August 2010 Burn Nursing Age: 38
  15. Sorry, I meant Sallie Mae. I did have to have a cosigner for my loan, all the student loans that I looked at needed a cosigner. What about a personal loan at a bank or credit union? I looked into that also and the interest rate wasn't much different from the Sallie Mae.
