So, I said I would start this one after orientation so we could all have one thread to talk about things under instead of 10. What did everyone think of orientation? Any un-answered questions? And what start date is everyone requesting? Yay for the new uniforms/prices!

Laujen - OMG, I must really be old! I can't believe how bad my body aches! I feel like I have done at least 100 squats! My arms are fine but my butt, legs and hips are killing me! Also, my left hand on top is really sore! I am in sad shape! lol

hahaha oh no lisa! until you said that though, I didn't even realize that's probably why my lower back hurts today! I thought it was maybe from the heels I wore last night, but it must have been all the floor work we did. but, it was nice to finally meet you in person and have someone to partner with in class!

So, I just called the office in regards to the start date letter, was told she was "working on them right now"... so I said, "Does than mean we'll hopefully be getting them within the next week?" And she said yes. We'll see!!

Well that helps maybe I will not stalk the mail man. lol

Hey guys, anyone else taking the BLS class at Henry Ford on Thurs June 24th???

I'm taking that class with you

So, apparently, word on the street is that they've already taken in 13 alternates? My friend ranked #201, and they stop the alternate list at 200. She called to see if she had been moved up to the alternate list, and they said that she has 28 people infront of her before she would be offered a seat, but that they never move people onto the list, technically. But if they were to go through those 28 people, they would call her. I can't believe 13 people didn't want their seats?

That's not too shocking, remember all the folders left at orientation? Didn't our paper work say if you didn't show you were basically giving up your spot.

Yeah, I saw all those folders, but I'm just saying I'm kinda surprised that 13 people didn't even the seat at all. Considering how hard it is to get in these days, I would think every single person would want their seat! But who knows why those people decided not to take them. Oh well. Better for us and our start dates!

That is a pretty 'high' number, but then again there were a lot of folders left over. I hope that means better start dates for the rest of us. :) In the mean time, I'm just waiting till my start date letter comes. I remember one of the ladies stating to get your CPR certs closer to your start date and that's what I plan on doing.

Yeah, there was no reason for me to run out and get my CPR cert last week, especially since I ranked so low, but I have a toddler, and I learned a lot in the class that I could use if need be.

The certification lasts for 2 years and then once you get a job in a hospital, you need to be certified anyway, so basically it doesn't matter to me that it was taken early - BLS will be a part of my life from here on out. lol

I am also happy to have it out of the way and to now have the knowledge that was provided from the course.

I wish those letters would come......
