Macomb Community Graduates 2012-13

So, I said I would start this one after orientation so we could all have one thread to talk about things under instead of 10. What did everyone think of orientation? Any un-answered questions? And what start date is everyone requesting? Yay for the new uniforms/prices!

MizzGizz and Orna, I'm an august start too :) My first clinical is also at St John Detroit. WOOHOO...getting excited now.

Congrats to those early starters! That was what I wanted... August start with St. John Mack/Moross.... I live in Grosse Pointe, so it's close. Hopefully I'll get to start there in March.

Lisa - Mornings don't work, but one at 1 would probably work.... my mom or mother-in-law will watch my daughter.... I dont like that they only offer it at the center campus, since south is closer to me, but I guess it is what it is! Lemme know if that works for you... Monday or Wednesday would be fine, and I'll just build my schedule around that. I think I'm going to take an Asian religion class (tuesday nights) and childrens literature as well this fall... don't know which other pre-reqs you need to fill?

Does anyone know how the priority registration works? I only have 14 credits with MCC and havent attended since fall of 08'... so would I be last to register?

LauJen: If you have 30 credits or more, you will be able to get to register first. I currently have 30 credits at MCC. The more credits you have, the better registration will be for you.

Lauren, I was wrong with the time, it is at 12 - 2:55 not 1. I would prefer to take it on Wednesdays with the August start not the October. Let me know what you think.

I am planning on taking Elementary Spanish, Intro to Logic and General Chemistry - all of these would go towards a bachelors at Oakland.

For January, I will take several online courses - they only last 8 weeks. This way I will stay busy and still be working towards something.

I was hopeful that an earlier start might have been possible but I knew my chances were slim. Oh well, it is what it is and I am very grateful that I was accepted into the program to begin with.

This is from Macomb's website -

To qualify for Priority Registration:

  • You must have been in attendance at Macomb within the last 2 years or have submitted an Admission Update Form by June 11, 2010.
  • New students must have submitted an Application for Admission by June 11, 2010.
  • Students who qualify for Priority Registration will be sent an email with their assigned registration time. The assigned registration time can be confirmed on WebAdvisor beginning June 28th.

Yeah, I saw that Lisa, but wasn't exactly sure what it meant (credit wise). The wednesday class sounds fine to me (for August), so as long as it's still open by the time I'm allowed to register, I will sign up for it!

Hi, I got my letter also it says start in March. I was really hoping for a sooner start but I should be happy with what I got. lol I would also like to take the hsc class this fall let me know what you decide to take. I would love to take it with you.

I am planning on registering for HHSC-1040-C0804 W 12-2:55 (8/25 - 10/13). It would be great to have a group from our class together. Hope this will work for you.
