Corazon I see that you said it is based on if all your pre req's are done, do you mean the co req's? Because I know that they require you to have A and P, Micro and English done before you can even apply. Was this different in the past?

Yeah it was different in the past, you could apply before finishing those classes. I remember when we were telling them our start preference at orientation we had to tell them when we would be finished with certain classes (like micro and A&P because those had to be finished before med/surg 1 I believe.) Since you guys have all the classes finished already they will probably just do start dates by ranking. With my ranking I figured I would have started in October, but I got August, because some people decide to start later for personal reasons or to finish micro. I think most of my start group ranked in the top 45. Does that help?

I received a letter in the mail today from MCC and I'm very confused....can anyone provide some insight?? It says "Thank you for your interest in the Nursing Program at Macomb Community College. Your Nursing applicant file is complete and you will be ranked in the Nursing program. We will begin ranking on Monday, April 26."

Then the letter goes on to give me my scores etc. DOES THIS MEAN THAT I WAS ACCEPTED? Or is this standard procedure for them to send out a letter confirming everyone's scores before they actually accepted people? Any insight would be much appreciated. I would have loved to call the school, but its 8PM on Friday and I'll have to wait until Monday to contact the enrollment office.

Jamie312, these are the ranking specific letters. I was there today and they said in about two weeks they will send out the acceptance/denial letters. They take those scores and rank us by GPA and HESI and then rank accordingly. In the acceptance letter they do not tell you how you ranked though. They told me today that we could go in and find that info out if we wanted. The wait is killing me. I hope we hear soon!!!

After getting your acceptance letter, you have to give them $100 to the cashier to confirm your spot in the program. While you are there... go to the Admissions counter, show them your letter and they will give you where you ranked. Once you are in the program, it is not really important where you ranked, just that you made it. Although having "some" idea of where you ranked can get you a better idea of when you will start.

I remember waiting for my letter last year. We got ours around April 20th? I can't believe they are sending out the letters so late. Hopefully by the end of this week you will know something. They usually have a mandatory welcome / orientation meeting in May that you MUST go to. That is not a lot of time for you to save the "date".

Good luck to you all. I so understand how you feel waiting, but really.. it will be here before you know it, and in a year you all will be in my position going... where did the time go?

So I went up to the enrollment office today and found out I got in for the Fall 2010 program!! Anyone else find out yet??

MizzGizz, OMG!!! I went yesterday and they told me nothing. Did you receive your letter yet? I hope to find out any day. What were your hesi scores and GPA? Hopefully we'll be nursing partners :) Congrats!

BugsMom, They kind of gave me a hard time at first when I went in..but eventually one of the ladies working in the back said that yes they could give me the information because all of the letters were mailed out that day, so I'm sure you'll be getting your letter today! My GPA was 3.57 and HESI 97. I ranked 42 I think she said? I was so excited I kind of blocked out everything else going on lol. So I think that means I will start in August? I'm not sure they didn't say.

MizzGizz, Congratulations!! I am so happy for you. I can't wait for the rest of us to get our letters. I am probably going to be in the August class also. I will be letting everyone know as soon as the letter comes!!
