Lunch?

What healthy foods do you bring for lunch, if you don't want to eat cafeteria food?

When I make mine i simply make everything and then roll them up into the tortillas and wrap them individually in aluminum foil. That way I just have to grab one, unwrap and into the microwave. Saves even more time. I do this when I go camping as well and they turn out great everytime.

Sounds good I just wouldn't want my tortilla getting soggy or hard as a rock. Corn tortillas take like 10 seconds to microwave frozen filling would take longer than that, wouldn't it?

I recently bought these Stay fit containers

I have the cereal and salad one and prepare them the night before. I guess you can use any tupperware too but I like these because of all the compartments.

Makes healthy eating easier,,,, I guess..

Make it easy, and or the night before. X that. Make it the late afternoon/evening. I was too rushed in the morning and and too tired the night before. I never carried anything "easy" to bring. I ended up gaining 10 lucious pounds by the year was over.

:( This sound's like it will be me soon. WII Fit = My new BFF!

Sweet I like the look of that cereal bowl. I may have to check it out. Do they sell them separately? I think the cereal one would be all that I need.

My Camelbak has a flip top with the straw in the bottle. I have the plastic one that's bpa free, but they also offer stainless steel if you prefer. I've dropped it I don't know how many times on the concrete and it's never even scratched.

I don't have the insulation sleeve, but they sell one to fit the bottle.

you can buy the waterbottles at Target

I converted to a primal/paleo lifestyle 3 months ago and have lost 50 pounds....so I have a much different idea of what healthy is but I thought this quicky and portable would work for you guys too!Omelet Muffins | Marks Daily Apple

you can really change up the recipe to use what ever items you like, you can then freeze them, or store them in the fridge for a week, plus they are individual so that makes them so easy to grab and go!!

Specializes in none.

I haven't started my nursing program as of yet; but for work i bring nice healthy lunches in my zojirushi bento box (soup, rice, meat, and warm veggies...all nice and hot). Always hot n' fresh food and nothing from a box for me. I usually bring water in my stainless steel water bottle (my city has gone green) and i bring homemade coffee in my thermos (very small thermos...only fits 1.5cups).:)

I also freeze breakfast burritos in bulk. I wrap them individually with suran wrap. All I have to do is pop one in the microwave for 15 seconds. So quick, nutritiously balanced, and yummy!

I would recommend investing in a "Magic Bullet". I use mine daily. I add frozen fruit, yogurt, and OJ or milk and blend for 10 seconds. Most blenders are not worth the cleaning...but this one is so easy. You just wash the cup, you use it to drink out of and blend. http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Bullet-Express-17-Piece-High-Speed/dp/B000AEZVRS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1279831021&sr=8-1

I know it's juvenile, but I made a lot of "english muffin pizza" while in nursing school. Break the english muffin in half, spread marinara sauce over both halves, add cheese and toppings. Put in the toaster oven for about 10 minutes. I think it is as good as any pizza!

I also love my George Foreman grill. I add lemon pepper seasoning to thawed chicken and grill it, mmm

Sounds great, please share your recipe!

That's not juvenile at all! I love English muffin pizzas (and pita pizzas - same thing, just on a whole wheat pita). They got me through my first degree. Cheap and easy! I don't own a toaster oven anymore, though....
