What healthy foods do you bring for lunch, if you don't want to eat cafeteria food?
My Camelbak has a flip top with the straw in the bottle. I have the plastic one that's bpa free, but they also offer stainless steel if you prefer. I've dropped it I don't know how many times on the concrete and it's never even scratched.http://www.camelbak.com/sports-recreation/bottles.aspx
I don't have the insulation sleeve, but they sell one to fit the bottle.

I love the idea of this bottle, but am always worried about the reusable straw. Do you put it in the dishwasher? how often do you clean it?

What's to worry about with the straw? It's a really thick plastic material (the bottle and straw are bpa free). I've never noticed any smells or anyting, even if I haven't washed it in a while. I put the whole thing in the dishwasher. I take the cap off with the straw/mouth part attached, put that on the top shelf of the dishwasher and put the bottle on the bottom. I definitely don't wash it as often as I should, but probably about once a week if I'm using it just for plain water. I wash after every use if I put anything in it besides water (like Crystal Light or iced tea).
I didn't even know camelbak sold bottles. I have two of them but they're the ones that look like mini back packs and has a long straw thing that is coated with material then you put this thing in your mouth and suck on it. I use it whenever I run and when I was in the army. It is a hands free system.

Those are the ones I am used to seeing.
Does anyone have good breakfast ideas you can eat on the road? By the time I shower, get ready and get everything together it's time for me to get my butt in the car.
I used to be just like that, too. I would always fill a plastic disposable cup with Frosted Mini Wheats and then cover it with Glad Wrap the night before (I don't like milk in my cereal, so it happens to be pretty easy to eat in the car). If I was feeling ambitious I would take a bunch of fresh fruits and yogurt and make a smoothie and store it in the refrigerator overnight. I always made iced coffee (hence my user name!) the night before, too. The coffee and/or the smoothie was stored in those disposable styrofoam cups that have a lid. I liked my stuff to be disposable so I could throw it away as soon as I got to school. I didn't want the "leftovers" to sit in my car and ferment all day long.
[Nowadays I get up early and eat at home so that I can eat better foods. Plus, I feel too rushed if I eat in the car anymore.]
My aunt always used to eat yogurt in the car, but it scared me to death because neither of her hands were on the steering wheel every time she took a bite.

I've seen those before. I don't think I could get use to running with it on my back. I have a belt that I wear around my waist. It has small water bottles that click onto it. That took a lot of getting used to for me!
But yes, I love my Camelbak. It's worth spending a little bit more money on something when you know it'll last for a long time.
BTW - OP - I love this thread. I could talk about food all day!

I toast a mini whole wheat bagel or w.w. english muffin (Thomas' are my favorite) and top it with peanut butter and sliced strawberries, banana, or blueberries. I take it with me and a glass of milk in a plastic reusable cup. It's not too difficult to eat in the car and it's really filling with all that protein.
That's a great idea! Never thought of making frozen breakfast burritos. I guess I could make the egg filling the way I usually make it with egg (half egg substitute and half whole eggs), salsa, pico de gallo, veggies (I like a lot of veggies), a little low fat chorizo (they are available at whole foods), black beans, corn, cumin and some chili seasoning and some low fat mexican cheese and then freeze those into the cornbread corn shaped muffin tin I have and mold it in there and then I can put those into a freezer bag once it is frozen. Then all I would have to do is take out those molded egg filling microwave it and pop it into some corn tortillas or small whole wheat flour tortillas. That would be fast. I might make a test run of that this weekend to see how those hold up.

When I make mine i simply make everything and then roll them up into the tortillas and wrap them individually in aluminum foil. That way I just have to grab one, unwrap and into the microwave. Saves even more time. I do this when I go camping as well and they turn out great everytime.

Make it easy, and or the night before. X that. Make it the late afternoon/evening. I was too rushed in the morning and and too tired the night before. I never carried anything "easy" to bring. I ended up gaining 10 lucious pounds by the year was over.
