Hello!
I wanted to start a thread for all of us applying to LSU’s CRNA program starting in 2020. Past forums have seemed to be helpful in keeping up with timelines and connecting with one another. Can’t believe it’s time, but here we go!
They were clear about not providing housing for most places however they did say that they try to place two females together and perhaps can find a room to share in houses by current CRNAs.
Concerning holidays, I’m curious to know if “closed” is considered 11/27-12/2 for Thanksgiving and 12/24-1/2 for Christmas&New Years which aren’t very long breaks to fly home, but are manageable. I don’t mind having clinical rotations on any other holidays but the above Holidays would really be the only opportunity to see family during the program! ?

@CCRNCalifornia I asked about weekends/holidays in my interview because their packet provided says you only get 28 days of vacation total for the program. The only rotation that takes a true night shift (approx 11p-7a) is the trauma rotation. The large majority of the other clinicals are M-Fri during the day or early evening.
You only get 1 holiday off, I believe. You can't be at clinical any day that the LSU school itself is closed but you may be at your clinical site working the days before/after the holiday and are unable to go home because of that.
It was unclear to me if LSU provides housing for clinicals - does anyone know?
