Hello!
I wanted to start a thread for all of us applying to LSU’s CRNA program starting in 2020. Past forums have seemed to be helpful in keeping up with timelines and connecting with one another. Can’t believe it’s time, but here we go!
I made a Facebook group for LSU!

congrats to all! And good luck to everyone still waiting
I just interviewed Friday and I was one of the last to interview they said (It was the only available date when I signed up.) They seemed very rushed to get our short 15minute interview over with so I guess now we wait and see even though many have already been accepted?!
My interview was really only 1 clinical question and then them asking me if LSU is my top choice school. A weird question in my opinion.. considering I couldn’t answer that because I had only just arrived (no tour of the school, the interviewers didn’t even introduce their titles, I had many unanswered questions). I flew across the country to meet them but the interview was very informal. Maybe they were just tired and had already made their minds up before I got there?
my stats are: GPA 3.7, GRE 298, CCRN cert, 2.5 years Med/Surg ICU
I’m thinking that if they offer an acceptance and someone backs out later then it counts as their “attrition rate”.
Good luck to those waiting to hear back like me and congratulations to those accepted! Very exciting!

“Attrition rate” is counted when students actually start the program then drop out after classes have already begun. I don’t plan on accepting the offer to attend LSU in 2020, however that will not affect their attrition rate.
And don’t count yourself out! LSU has a large cohort of students. And I feel they are still deciding on who will be in this cohort. Send me a message if you have any questions, maybe I can answer (i asked a several of questions.)
@CCRNCalifornia I spoke to a senior student during the tour and it seems to be the common consensus is that students are switching clinical sites every 2 months (he said you stay there long enough to get comfortable then you're thrown into a new environment). I do not believe there are clinical rotations on the weekends/holidays, however I am not sure, specifically the holidays. And I accepted my Rush University offer a few weeks ago.
@almostnurse16 WOW! Rush!! That’s so awesome ? congratulations! What are your stats?/yrs of experience? And thank you for that information! Moving every 2 months seems stressful but hardship builds character! Most schools have clinical rotations of 2 months but travel/moving requirements vary school to school for rural rotations.
@CCRNCalifornia yes, I agree it does build character! LSU has access to a great transplant center and VA system as well (that's what i liked about the program). And thank you!
My stats:
Undergrad GPA: 3.62
Grad GPA: 3.7
SICU/transplant: 19months, PCU: 1 year
GRE: 303/4.0
CCRN/ACLS/BLS/PALS

Has anyone else heard anything. When are the last interviews?
