LPN's Are Lower Class People?????

:angryfire I overheard a comment today passing in the halls at school that only lower class people that can't become RN's become LPN's.

You know how when you hear something and you can't hardly believe what you heard???

I cannot believe the mentality of some people!!

Also, the LPN route is a great way to get your feet wet, get some health care experience, and help make the decision of whether or not to continue on and invest in an RN program.

I did this myself. I already had a BA and wasn't going to put that much time and $$ into another degree that I wasn't sure about.

So I went LPN-ADN-BSN-MN. I'm thinking about DNP.

I've never regretted it. It was great experience!

My guess is the person that said that, even though maybe in an RN program probly havent passed their Endocrine, Cardiac, CNS or fluid and electrolyte chapters yet. They still yet could be singing a different tune.

Dont worry they will get a quick awakening someday when they least expect it and their words will haunt them.

Wow, that is shocking. Having less education does not mean a lower class in all situations.

I am not exactly sure what 'probly havent passed their Endocrine, Cardiac, CNS or fluid and electrolyte chapters yet' has to do with it, but I do agree that low class people are found everywhere. I know many RN's that just make me wonder how they got there at all.

Even if you one day decide to become an RN (or NP, PA, MD, etc) you'll still run into the occasional person who feels the need to cut you down a notch. You did well to recognize that it was a boneheaded comment. Sometimes you have to shake your head at the ignorance and just keep on walking.

It never ceases to amaze me just how utterly stupid and rude people can be. Unbelievable! I want to know what this person was thinking in making this comment. Are they Royalty or something? My question is: What makes a person so special that they feel the need to be that insincere?

What goes around, comes around. One day this person is going to be helpless and in need, and guess who is going to be the care provider?

How very sad that some people have no class or brains to speak of. It takes all kind to make the world go around.

Hoep one day the person who made that comment will get a LPN to take care of them.HEHEHEHEHEHE:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :D :D

Oh Puh-leeze! LPNs are valued members of the team! Lower-class? Hogwash!

Whenever someone insults me, I tell them to be careful because,"You never know if someday you might wake up in a hospital, and I'll be standing over you with an good old fashioned enema bag!".....lol...........And some of you might remember, a 3 H one:jester: :rotfl:

My wife and I have three children all under the age of six, my wife drives from Detroit,MI to Ohio everyday to attend LPN school. Currently she leaves the house at 6am to get to school by 8am and gets back home at 7pm to study usually untill midnight. I attending school to become an RN, she going this route so that she can immediately start working not because she's less intelligent, moral, or valuable than anyone else.

I don't know if many women could do what she does and still find time to attend church, care for the children and sometimes cook, I also take on many other chores such as dishes, washing, etc. we do this to support one another.

If I heard anyone insinuate that my wife was a lower class person I'd probably have a flashback to Bierut on their a@@ and it wouldn't matter if they were male or female. They would witness a very direct Marine Corps verbal teardown and I wouldn't even have to curse.

What a thought provoking statement. I'm going to remember this. Thank you.
