Hey everyone! Is anyone attending ocvts in September? I'm starting then and I just wanted to hear from anyone if they're going/graduated.

Thanks!

You don't pick your class it is assigned to you by administration.

Thanks. I was under the impression the student chose.

Based on my last name I register at 1 PM. How about you?

Hello everyone, It's nice to know there are others like me, who are ready to embark on this journey with OCVTS in September. I look forward to what this school year brings. I must say everyone I've had the pleasure of meeting in the school has been a delight to encounter. The staff seems to really care about their students success and I'm ready to succeed.

What type of math is essential to know? Where did you get your uniform? When did you begin your clinicals and how long is the clinical rotation ?

At the school we are attending they told us you have to request the team you want to be on and I choose team B but if you don't at registration in July they will choose for you. Not sure how other school handle that but OCVTS is different.

Hello Rose you can choose, call the school and speak to the lady and choose A or B. I choose my class because I interviewed with that instructor and she told me the students have to request there class if they have a preference. Also I met a student that have that class and states the instructors are awesome instructors. You can call the school to confirm but I already know my class because I picked it and they (the school) gave me the option. See you at registration I go the same time 1:00pm.

You may make a request but there is no guarantee it will be granted unless you have a specific reason (i.e. one section has AM clinical rotations and the other had PM rotations and for child care AM was better, etc.) They try to accommodate requests but there are no guarantees, especially if too many students request a particular section. the classes need to be balanced. It's not like traditional classes where you pick which section and instructor you want to be in.

Previously interviews were not required as a condition of acceptance but that changed three years ago. Just like the TEAS is a recent requirement.

Both instructor teams are experienced and knowledgeable so even if you do not get your choice section you will still have the same opportunity to learn and shine.

Not saying your wrong but that's what they told me at my interview and I got to choose and I am in the class of choice. I also heard both classes have awesome instructors. And the choice comes in a first come first serve basis. And lucky for me I chose. Have a good day.

I also will be there at 1 PM so maybe I will meet you.

Hey! Just know your basic math going in. Towards February, you will need to know med math. They will teach it, but to get a head start you can get the books math for meds. There's formulas you need to know and remember. I hate math and I got through! You'll need to know measurement equivalents. ML-oz, etc. they will give you a sheet of paper to memorize before school starts in the mail. Know that for the first day!

For uniforms I got them at life uniform in toms river. Do yourself a favor though and check the office ..........a lot of students bring their old uniforms in for new students and they're free! Save yourself the money! Have a pair of blues and your name badge pretty early on. You won't need your white uniforms until November. You can get everything at life uniform. The name badge takes a while so order that early. A lot of people didn't have them and the teachers weren't happy. We begin clinical in November. We're in clinical until June. It varies from once a week, to a couple times a month, to five days a week towards the end of the year.

If you need anything else, ask away! I'm in the program now :)
