  1. I would join a facebook group specific to our class. I think it would be fun.
  2. I'm also really undecided about what kind of bag to get. I've fought the rolling back pack for so long, but I strained my shoulder really bad last semester carrying a tote that was to heavy. Ugh, decisions decisions.
  3. Hi Ladies! Got my letter this afternoon. I'm in class A, which I wanted! I can't wait for the first day of school!
  4. jnc0713, I called today to change my address and she said she was mailing stuff today. I'm thinking we'll get them some time this week.
  5. You're right. Its hard to find a job in almost every field these days. I know so many people who have graduated from really good schools in a variety of areas and only a few of them are actually working in their chosen field. English majors working at Barnes & Nobles (sort of relevant), Film Majors driving ice cream trucks. All my Aunt ever wanted to be was a teacher, so she got a Masters in Childhood education. Unfortunately she became so disillusioned trying to find her first teaching job that she quit trying and has since worked in the insurance industry for YEARS. Its sad, but all you can do is work hard and make the best of it.
  6. That is a very good point. Its up to me to get where I want to go. Thanks for setting me straight.
  7. Ladybug, you're giving me a bit of hope. Its nice to see that not all job hunt stories are horror stories. I'm starting an LPN program in September and plan on working for a while afterwards because continuing on with an RN. My ultimate goal is to become an NP, but that is much farther into the future.
  8. This was NOT a good thread for me to read. I'm starting an LPN program in September, after waiting on my community colleges RN waiting list for years (I'll eventually do the RN, but the LPN will get me working faster). This is what I want to do with my life. I don't know what I'd do if I had to change my mind. I don't want to struggle to find a job though. Ugh.
  9. Hi Everyone, I was wondering if someone could do me a huge favor. My folder didn't come with the yellow medical terminology paper. I meant to ask for one at the end of registration and completely forgot. Would anyone be able to scan it and email it to me? Rose
  10. I feel like such a slacker. I haven't gotten my medical stuff done yet. The fund have just now become available, so I just have to make the appointment. I'm so excited though, I can't wait to register.
  11. Hi jnc0713, I'm curious if you could share the answer you got about this with us/me. I already had my financial aid appointment and completely forgot to ask if we could use some for our books. Thanks.
  12. Based on my last name I register at 1 PM. How about you?
  13. Thanks. I was under the impression the student chose.
  14. Hi! I had my interview for the ocvts lpn program on the 23rd too. I think my appointment was either 1 or 1:30, can't remember which now. What time were you there? I had my financial aide meeting then too. It went really well. Next step is registration :) I can't wait to get started. I'm over-the-moon excited, and nervous all at the same time. Rose
  15. Hi Everyone, I'll be starting the LPN program in September too. I still have medical stuff to do, but aside from that I'm just waiting to register. I'm so excited. I can't believe I'm finally going to jump in. I've done all the OCC prereqs, but I couldn't fathom waiting another year to get in. I couldn't be happier! Anyone know which team they will be choosing? Rose
