Hey everyone! Is anyone attending ocvts in September? I'm starting then and I just wanted to hear from anyone if they're going/graduated.
Thanks!
TPerrix... Thanks for the info... I think the ladies at Life Uniform try to push for you to get everything there... I'm only getting the scrubs, need the jacket I'm always cold! Do you know if you can wear a long sleeve white shirt under the white clinical uniforms since I'm always freezing!
@ kmwk when I was talking with the lady @ life uniform she did mention there is another place we can get the scrubs but did not say where. She said we get all of that info during registration.
Are any if you ladies studying ahead before September??? I was gonna but not sure if its worth it since they teach everything a certain way.. I want to enjoy the summer before the insane ness begins! Lol
@ kmwk.. Oh ok I wasn't sure what everyone was doing as far as studying goes.. I was gonna go heavy to get a head start but then I talked to a few people that are in the program and they suggested not to.. I might brush up on A&p and brush up on my medical term but unless they tell us otherwise I think I'm just gonna do that.
The only thing with getting the uniforms online they are very specific on what you can & cannot wear. I'd be afraid of getting something wrong plus you can't get the patches or name tag online so you would have to go there to order that. The lady at Life said that they are very specific about the shoes and clinical uniforms. I can't wait to go to registration! I'm so ready to start !
Never mind... Got my answer!Oh and I just got off the phone with Life Uniform in TR.. Got all the prices for them so if anyone is interested and are like me that need to budget let me know and I will post them.
Hi jnc0713,
I'm curious if you could share the answer you got about this with us/me. I already had my financial aid appointment and completely forgot to ask if we could use some for our books.
Thanks.
I'm not sure yet as I have my financial aid appt this week.. But I was reading through the student handbook the other day and it said that if you are getting aid you have to get the books thru the school not sure if that is correct or not I will be asking that when I go.. But I'm thinking yes the aid gets dispersed in October so they may just put the cost of books from them as part of the tuition.. But don't quote me lol once I or anyone else does please post here thanks!

Hello ladies I had my financial aI appointment already and from what I understand you have to purchase your books yourself and with me I tool the max in financial aid and pell grant so I have money left over that I will get back in October so I can count that as returned money for books and uniforms. If you find out different please let me know as well.

@jnc0713 your correct they are particular about the shoes they have to be closed back shoes with no laces, I actually went to life uniform store today and the women showed me exactly what was needed. I will take the chance and get the lab scrubs on line and just get the patch from life along with the hospital scrubs and name tag because you have to iron the patch on yourself anyway. The lady said as long as the blue set is basic with no fashion extras them the school is ok with it, she said they even make sure you have the proper nursing socks .
