This topic has been around before, but I was looking for something more up to date. Things have fluctuated in past two years or so. I know people are always looking for salaries and most of the time its for RN's. I'll start ;-)

Around the Cincinnati area here I'm not sure about the starting pay or pay in hospitals for LPN's. But I know LTC facilities are about 16 to start ranging up to about 22. I've seen ad's in the paper saying $24 but I don't know what that was for. Agencys are about 21-25 dollars for LPN's also. I believe Jobs are plentiful around here! Also when I was up in columbus, I heard an instructor saying they are starting their LPN's out with $27-30 while the RN's get about $40-50 ..I don't really believe that, but I just tossed that out there maybe for some clarification?

Hello, i will be starting LPN school in CT, next month. And i was wondering i wanted to relocate to Floridia when am done and continue with my education, is there any LPN in the Tampa Orlando area could tell me what are the starting pay rates?. For either LPN OR RN. And what would be the process for my transfering my liscene to the state of Florida. Any replys would i would be greatful.

I used to live in Northern California, Sanfrancisco to be exact. They pay pretty well. LPN's working in the County hospital earn between $27 and $30. I can safelly say that in the Bay Area of California they earn nothing less than $22 an hour base rate not including weekends and differentials.

Right now, I live in houston, Texas. The pay here is not that good, it depends on where you work. Some places start out at $13/hr. Some agencies will go up to as much as $24/hr.

However don't forget the cost of living in the Bay area is about 5x that of Houston area it only makes sense you get paid a much higher wage.

Here in SW LA, range goes from 9 and change up to 18, depending on if it's the hospital or nursing home. Something I found out the other day that just ticks me off:angryfire :angryfire :angryfire I've been a nurse 3 1/2 yrs, a brand spanking new nurse, without any type of experience, is going to make less than a dollar less than I make right now. Which I guess is one of the main reasons I'm moving to Tx.

As a graduating LPN, the numbers are between $15-17.50 around here (NW Ohio), depending on shift differentials and weekend hours.

I as an LPN started out at $12.00 an hour plus $0.50 shift diff and $1.00 weekend diff.. that was one month ago.. I was interviewed for a job that is alot farther away doing 5 - 8's starting at $16 an hour if you work EVERY weekend..

So i opted to stay where im at doing 3- 12's at $12.50 an hour for a few reasons. 1. I get payed weekly 2. i like where im at 3. i have great days Mon, tues, wed. 4. its CLOSER... blah blah blah..

OH YEAH after one year of "experience" I get boosted up to $16.00 an hour where i am

just changed jobs lpn for a home with mentally retarded clients( big med pass 7p and 5a) 3 12hr shifts 630-7a NO weekends at 17.25 hr with good medical benefits..low stress overall...lpns here in western PA really vary 13-24..hospitals being the worst payers well besides MD offices.
