I Need help with Medical Math...

hello there. i'm not an lpn as of yet, but i will be in 2008 permitting if i pass the test. i'm not really good in math and i have disliked it all my life. as you know, nurses need a lot of math in order to do doseage calculations, ht. and wt., surface area, drug doseages for peds, monitoring iv, giving im, sq, or id injection etc...i hope math won't be my downfall as a nurse because i really love nursing! does anybody have any suggestions about an easier way to do mental math for drug calculations??? any help will be appreciated. thank you so much. :):):)

Hello Missy. I'm sorry that I haven't replies u. I have been very busy with my mid terms in school. And I had to study,. Thanfully, I am finished. I dunno what I got for English, but I knwo I got the folwng grades: an A in my Foundations of Nursing mid term, a B in my Government, an A in my Adult Health Nursing mid term, an A for my Anatomy and Physiology mid term, a B in my pharmacology mid term for nursing, and my last class in English and I dunno what I got. So what have u been up to these past few days? How are your classes going? So did u figure out how to use your MSN? I'm sorry that I can't help you with that. But I have an idea. Do you know the "chat" link on the top of the page of allnurses.com? Click on that and we can chat via allnurses. Just leme knwo what time u wanna talk and I'll chat with u. Well, I have to go now. That is so wonderful, does it feel awsome to get A's and B's it makes me feel like so smart and areal sense of accomplishment:w00t::ancong!::chrs::anpom::anpom::anpom:!!! And it's even better when it's in nursing school!!! I hope that I can get A's and B's in nursing school!!! I have been doing great just bought my Biology100 book online with http://www.textbooks.com I saved $56 bucks:lol:!!! It's ok I know how midterms can be and it's so important to study. It's perfectly alright to be scared. I undersdatdn how you r feeling. One thing that might help u calm down a bit is to keep your mind of of how hard it might be. Just thinking about how hard something is will make you more tense, anxious, and scared. When you are finally about to learn the math just take a deep breath and say to yourself that you can do it. fyi, I find math a bit easier when I relate it to nursing. Make the math problems more interesting. You will not be perfect on the first try and even the third; but the main thing is to keep a cool head and most importantly, Believe in yourself. :):):):nurse:

Hi Missy. Your very swet too! How r u? I am fine. I probably wouldn't get a chance to talk to you tonite, but I would love to talk to you tomorow afternoon. Maybe around 6:00 if thats good for you.
