LPN license from the Philippines, working in the USA

Published

My question is "If a citizen of the philippines attended an LPN program in the Philippines, who is also a fiance of a US citizen and plans to reside in the USA with her spouse in the future, has taken and passed the NCLEX-PN, and can legally work in the USA be able to get an LPN license based on her credentials?" In other words, are they any accredited LPN programs in the Philippines that is recognized by any state BON in the USA?

I would think that would be up to the individual state BONs. Have you asked in any of the states you might end up living in?

Very few. As PN is not a recognized credential in the Philippines there is no accreditation for the educational program nor can a candidate be eligible for licensing as an LPN in the Philippines. Definitely not in NJ or IN or any state that requires a candidate to have graduated from an approved program with eligibility for licensure in the country of education.

LPN is not sufficient for an employment based visa.

There are no accredited LPN programs in the Philippines as neither the PRC nor the Filipino government recognize the LPN credential.

If she has a BSN degree, she can use those credentials to challenge the CA BVNPT using that to get a ATT for NCLEX-PN license, but it will only be good in California.

You should just pick the state that you are going to reside in with your fiance and apply for it. You may apply for one board and try to endorse try to endorse into the state that you plan to reside in but that may be just a waste of time. The worst that can happen is that it will be a no. You wont know until you apply. Good Luck

Just try to apply one of the state that where you wanna work and see what happens. And to be honest I haven't heard LPN from Phils. then got accepted to sit for nclex PN here in US. I have a friend of mine he graduated as LPN in the Phils. and he tried to send his TOR here to be evaluated but when he apply for CA NCLEX PN, BVNPT didn't accept it.
