i am about to enter the HoHoKus school for lpn soon. I am wondering has anyone attended the school and graduated. I have a few other questions, such as the classroom enivirionment, teachers, students and was it worth your money?
What happen in the Medical Asst program?
the teachers and basically the school itself sucked.. none of them really cared. they were basically just there to collect a paycheck.. you literally had to teach yourself if you wanted to succeed, then if someone did complain about to the education dept they would just smile and nod at you and you would hear nothing about it ever again... that's was back in 2004, so HOPEFULLY things have changed there since..
MsAmbitious2336, when is the next class starting? did you take the entrance exam already? Do you live in brooklyn but willing to commute to NJ? I heard classes in this school start every 3 months, i dont know if it has changed but call and check, tons of people from brooklyn commute to NJ for school, its way better than waiting for a nursing program in nyc.
good luck
Hi FutureRNElizabeth, No I didn't take the entrance exam yet..... I am going to send out the registration form today and then they will call me and tell me when I can take the entrance exam. Yes, I live in Bk and I don't have a problem with commutting to NJ everyday. I know they have a class starting this May.
Thanks
Good luck to you too:)
Hello everyone... I am new to these boards. I am starting the LPN program at Ho-Ho-Kus school this Fall. I recently took the NET test and did very well on it. I was nervous because math is not a strong subject for me but I passed. If I can do it, so can you! I will be attending the evening program as I have to work during the day. For those of you who have graduated from there.... Are clinicals every other Saturday or every Saturday? Where do we typically have them besides Bergen Reg? How difficult was it for any of you to get hired after you graduated and was anyone able to get a position in a hospital? Thanks for any comments! :wink2::wink2:

Every other Saturday..
Valley kicked the school out so beside Bergen...there is Care One, Wanaque LTC and another one for Hackensack school..
Forget about hospitals...
Good luck..
I could not agree more I went to HNH School of Practical Nursing...The Instructors are amazing, the school really worked with me, so that I passed NCLEX no problem, There is only one class at a time so that we did not feel like we were just a bunch of numbers for the school. There is real indiviual attention to each student. Clinical is mostly on site AT Holy Name, which is great. I could not have picked a better place to go to school.
