WHat can I say about it, is that Ramsey has better reputation than Hackensack Hohokus..

The good point is that in Ramsey you will have the clinicals at Bergen Regional,,

The money are too much but....

There is a placement test and the length is 12 months..

Contact Leticia Burke there, she is a sweetheart and very good informed..

HoHoKus is a good school it has a good acredidation. You will learn a lot from the teachers all have loads of experiance to back their teaching on. The more you put into studying and learning the easier it will be for you. You do some of your clinicals at bergen regional, (geri and psych) and some class time is there too. Building 5 is gross (old decrepid building with an occasional insect) but if you are starting soon (ie winter) then you should be fine! I did clinicals there in the summer and my God there was NO A/C on some of the floors and it was brutal!

You also do clinicals at Valley Hospital (med-surge, L&D, Neonatal, and Peds) and one outpatient place. It is all worth the time and money to there, good luck and study, study, STUDY!!!

Has anyone gone or going to Ho Ho Kus School for LPN? I am curious to know what people think? Anyone think of going there and then change their mind?

Thanks!

I don't know if you received my last message, but I've graduated from the Hohokus-Rets, Nutley School for Certified Medical Assistant w/GPA. I loved the teachers, who were doctors & nurses alike. & obtained a perfect 4.0 GPA. Several months before graduating, I signed up for the LPN program @ Ramsey; w/all my credits transferred to their sister school. I've had nothing but positive results & encouragement from the entire establishment, which is more like a family. If the Ramsey teachers are anything like the Nutley people, which I believe they are, you're in for a wonderful experience. Good Luck! Shawn

I'm taking the entrance test on May 13th. I know someone who did the medical assistant program and she loved it.

did you enter or are you still in the process?

Specializes in Neonatal ICU (Cardiothoracic).

shawny do attend day r night?

I get sooo tired of people ragging on the LPN program at the Hohokus Hackensack campus ! I graduate in November and can tell you that the progrm is excellent and the teachers are amazing, though I disliked only one batch of teachers I had for Gerentology clinicals. There seems to be an overwhelming lack of commitment and discipline with many of the studen I have seen at both Ramsey and Hackensack campuses and THAT is the only negative thing can say about either campus. The stuonnts seem to think they should have the information handed to them with little or no effor,t not realizing that it is ultimately YOUR job to know the information and YOUR responsibility to let the instructors know when something is not understood. I have seen too many of the students treat clinical like a chore.. something to get through and tolerate but would rather be partying somehwere else.

It must be remembered that ones learning experience is ultimately what YOU make of it. I would recommend the hackensack campus to anyone and look forward to entering their rn program when they open, which is soon !

i graduated the ramsey program in january and actually really enjoyed it. i'm waiting on taking the nclex but a lot of my classmates have already taken it and are already working in the field. the clinicals are actually really helpful too.
