Lousy Professor or lousy student?

Nursing Students General Students

Hello everyone,

wanted ask ask the question if it is the students fault or the Professors fault to succeed in nursing school? Who has more responsibility to make sure we have future qualified and quality nurses?

A high failure rate does not make a quick buck for the school because people look at those stats when choosing a school. Lenders look at the stats before authorizing student loans for a particular institution. Schools are more likely to make a quick buck by dumbing down the material and pushing everyone through. And hope it takes a while for their reputation to catch up to them.

If you're in a school that is run in an unscrupulous way, your best bet is to cut your losses and start applying to reputable schools.

The right hand does not talk to the left. End of story. I don't know where you got your info but it's flawed majorly. Anyways,

The right hand doesn't talk to the left in most programs. Talk to different people from different schools and you'll most likely hear similar stories. No school is perfect.

As someone who has graduated from nursing school, TriciaJ is 100% on point. It is your information that is flawed.

It amazes me that you are on this site telling people to stop being negative, yet everytime someone comments.. you are negative about the information given. Why bother???

It is YOUR responsibility and your responsibility alone to succeed in your studies.

Graduating from nursing school was the hardest thing I had ever done.

Until I had to apply that knowledge... and be responsible for my patient's lives.

You are watching too many Al Puccino movies.

Lol! How about Al Cappucino?

Is the whole class failing, or just you? It sounds to me like you just haven't done the work and you want to play the blame game.

Nobody is failing. No blame game here.

Just some shady and monkey business being conducted nationwide and poor students being taken advantage. Not every school has lousy Professors but most of them who stopped being nurses and transitioned in becoming Professors are lousy.

Being poor has nothing to do with performance; don't blame shortcomings on socioeconomic status. Either you take it seriously or you don't. The origin of every excuse is the failure to do something.

How would you know? Unless of course you currently are or have been A NURSING STUDENT. Why don't you just become transparent about what it is you are harboring; the sooner you do the sooner you will move on.

I am a student at a private institution and all of the students that do poorly all use the same rhetoric that you use. They blame the professor, make excuses, berate the institution, but at the end of the day our education is proportional to the effort that we put in. Plenty of students at my institution retake classes due to poor performance. Good monetarily for the university? Absolutely. Have I taken any class twice? Never, because I know how to apply myself and adapt to overcome adversity. That's what it takes to succeed in nursing school, and in life. Good luck

What if the coaching and material is flawed? And what if the Professors are incompetent and set you up intentionally for failure just to make a quick buck for the school and take advantage of the poor student? Is that possible? Of course it is!!! If you are responding please make sure you are not affiliated or paid by a school. Thanks.

You chose to attend that school. You should have checked it out , before you entered the program.

You didn't do your homework.

There are other avenues, if you want to be a nurse.

May I suggest your local community college? I earned an ASN through mine. I make pretty good bucks with it.

Best wishes in your endeavours.
