Lousy Professor or lousy student?
Being poor has nothing to do with performance; don't blame shortcomings on socioeconomic status. Either you take it seriously or you don't. The origin of every excuse is the failure to do something.

Lousy Professor or lousy student?
Is the whole class failing, or just you? It sounds to me like you just haven't done the work and you want to play the blame game.

I think I rather go to nursing school instead of medical school.
I sincerely hope your use of quotations and italics makes you feel superior. The high horses are quite tall here. May I remind you that there are plenty of states where a nurse practitioner can indeed practice without the supervision of a physician. Get over yourselves. If you have nothing useful to add to a post hit the back button and ignore it.

I think I rather go to nursing school instead of medical school.
I read it just fine. Impossible is a strong word, and quite the overstatement in this case. dlhonorio, You are the only one that can make this decision. Nursing is a great field, and if you do nursing as a second degree and then complete your masters you could still practice medicine without having to worry about a residency, fellowship, etc. You could also decide that you love being a floor nurse and stay happy for the rest of your life. It's a very adaptive field and you really can do just about anything with a degree in nursing. Informatics, patient care, management, etc.

I Need Your TEAS Advice!
I found out I got a new job that would allow me to attend school two days before I took the TEAS. I worked both of those days and studied maybe 3 hours total. It's certainly not the SAT's. I'm horrible at math and scored 90% on the math portion. Get the ATI study guide and go over the science portion. Everything on the test was in the book and that portion of the book was maybe 25 pages long. Read and study all bold text. Take the test in the book (Both A & B) and study what you missed. You will do great! I scored an 84% with two days to prep. It's not as hard as everyone is making it out to be.

I'm applying to Lawrence with a 130. The decision to apply was last minute due to a job offer, so I had one day to study for my TEAS. I thought the teas 6 was much harder than V. I wish my score hadn't expired! Plenty of chemistry which I did not expect. Math/Reading/English were easy though.

How do you find support while you're still applying to nursing school?
If you want something you've never had, try something you've never done. Step outside of your comfort zone at least once a week and see if that doesn't help bring quality friends around. Relying on others to support you is what gets you exactly where you were before making the decision to change your life for the better and go to school. Love yourself, love those around you, too... but really pay attention to you. The only way to get through rough times is to improve the person in the mirror, and equip yourself to handle things better the next time things get rough. It's all part of the growing process.

Chasing after a dream
The nursing program I was in was at a private school. The credits may transfer to this school but I know they will not transfer to where I've decided to continue my education after my ASN. So I'm just knocking them out while I've got time.

Chasing after a dream
Just wanted to give an update! I've decided to chase Ivy Tech's program for fall 2016. I met with my adviser today and am all signed up to take my prerequisite courses. Classes start in January and the adviser said I can still apply for next fall by the April deadline, even if my classes don't end until may. Very, very excited!

Chasing after a dream
Hello Allnurses! My name is Eric, and I am planning on applying for nursing programs. I finally got accepted in July of 2014, but dropped out so I could continue to work while my fiance finished her ASN. She is now an RN, but she also ended things the day before graduation. (10/13) My mother is a FNP, she's worked cardiology and now she's in a retail clinical setting. I really would, at some point, like to go after my masters. I want to be depressed, cry, and give up. But chasing my dream and changing myself for the better is what's important to me. I don't know anything about other programs in Indy, all I knew was the first college I applied to. I can't go back there as it is a private school and I want my credits to transfer in case I need to try for another program. My current GPA is 4.0 - but at a private school. I know I'll have to start over, but where do I begin?! Thoughts? Suggestions?
