Lots of SATA questions for June NCLEX testers???

Published

I see a lot of people who have started taking their NCLEX this month say that there are a ton of SATA questions on the test, is this a new test format that started this month? I know that it was preached in our school that SATA questions were gonna be on the test but the amount of questions seems to have increased just from reading the posts in the thread from people who tested in the last two days. I take my test today @2PM and am mighty nervous.

Just took nclex-rn.. 75 questions ..had about 12 SATA.. waiting for Delivery Successful status!

I took mine yesterday and had at least 15 SATA as well. My computer shut off at 75 and I got the good pop up :smokin:I'm praying till I see "passed" tomorrow :w00t:

I took the NCLEX today. Computer shut off at 75 questions. 10 SATA, 1 dosage calcuation and 3 place in correct order questions. Did the PVT and got the good pop up. Lots of infection control, meds and who do you see first. only 1 question with lab values.

I really did not focus on the scores. I read rationales on every question right or wrong. I never watched the videos. Your scores look great. I will pray for you.

i just graduated and will be taking the nclex on june 27. our school required us to take the kaplan live review. our proctor was great. during the review, he sent us an e-mail with a ton of attachments, pdf's, helpful websites, and word documents he himself compiled.

there was one comprehensive document that basically read like a review of all they key points he was making during the review. i just sat down today to re-read it and stumbled across a very interesting note that i must have glossed over first time around.

it states, "statistically, it takes many more attempts with a select all that apply (sata) to prove the question valid and reliable, so most of the sata questions you'll see on the nclex are in the testing process and do not count towards passing."

you all are aware, i'm sure, that there are a set # of questions that are "experimental" and do not count toward a passing or failing grade.

i think we are seeing an influx of sata for this reason!

Yes that is true. There are 15 pilot questions on every NCLEX exam. You never know which ones they are. I too had a feeling that many of the SATA questions were pilot ones

i guess that explains why i still passed even though i was 99.9% sure that i bombed most of my sata questions which made up about 25% of my whole exam (about 20 qs).

I took the NCLEX RN this afternoon and passed at 75. I only got 4 or 5 SATA and they were pretty straightforward; easy compared to the rest imo. I had been expecting 20 + SATA based on what some local grads from last year had on their exams.

Well, I dont take my exam until Monday but a friend of mine took his last week and got 41 SATA. He passed....but 41 SATA!!! That has me shakin at the knees.
