Has anyone applied (or planning on applying) to the RN program at LAHC college? Is there a waitlist that you know of? Any comments, tips, or general info on this school is much appreciated.

Tiger~ I thought you took the TEAS already?? I'm taking it on Monday for LA Southwest. . .and I'm sooooo nervous! Did you get the ATI study book? I highly recommend it. The Kaplan book os okay, too. PS- how do you start a thread on this site? My friend and I can't figure it out. We want to start on about the TEAS- so we can get some tips from people who took it.

Anyone out there that has taken the TEAS. . .I'd LOVE some advise!! :)

I have already taken the teas... but my wife hasn't. We both applied to LAHC and she hasn't taken her teas yet.

Trogina I think I gave out some really good tips on another thread. If I were you I'd buy 2 practice assessment tests. The test is just like the practice assessment like 70%.

When did you apply to LA southwest? I went to an info session there a few weeks ago and they said that they now have a waiting list as well. I'm just curious as to how long you had to wait. I currently attend Santa Monica, but the wait list there is ridiculous, so i'm looking at alternatives. I am basically going to apply everywhere and hope I can get in somewhere for Spring 2011. LA harbor is lottery, right?

good luck on the TEAS, i've heard from several people that it is not as bad as everyone thinks it will be.

Hi, Peach!

I applied to LASW on March 31st. You *MUST see a counselor *BEFORE you apply--or they won't even look at your app. They are more "grade" driven there, too--so have well above the 2.5 to have a better shot. I hear they like "higher" TEAS scores, too. There was not a wait list when I applied--so maybe that's new. My friend goes there currently and she said they are downsizing to 30-33 students per semester due to staff shortages--some teachers are retiring. She loves it there, however--very culturally diverse. I blew off SMC because I was told they had a 3 semester waitlist. Harbor is a double lottery--and very hard to get into. I go there right now and took all my pre's there. I hear Cypress, East LA, Mount St. Mary's, Goldenwest, Long Beach City College and LA County College of Nursing & Allied Health don't have a waitlist. . .YET! If your friends give you any TEAS hints before Monday. . .could you throw them my way?

My wife and I got invited to take the teas @ LAHC!!! YAY! Everyone should check their emails the teas test are taken by RSVP hurry and register for the latest date if you have not taken the teas or if you need more time to study.

Did they give you a choice of dates (21st & 28th)? CONGRATS!!! I took the TEAS today at LA Southwest and PASSED!!! Whoo-hoo!

BTW--What time was the email sent from Harbor?

First off, I want to say CONGRATULATIONS :yeah::yeah::yeah: on passing! LAHC sent out the emails about 15 minutes ago. Oh yeah, you get to pick which date, first come first serve though..

Same here. I've bee checking but I haven't recieved anything yet. Tiger, would you mind sharing some of your stats? (GPA, grades in pre-reqs) If you and your wife both got accepted, you guy both must have steller stats.

Either way, I'm checking every 10 seconds also and I would like to extend my congradulations!!

No trogina. I've scouted out multiple spots but, ulimately decided to stick with the C-College route. And Yes, THIS DOES SUCK.

You have to assume that if we don't get anything tonight. we most likely won't get anyting at all
