  1. I don't think so.... I know there is a .45% ns though. Anything combined with 5% or 10% dextrose is HYPERtonic...
  2. why don't you two join the darkside! VIVA LA PC!
  3. you need to use Internet Explorer due to its use of ActiveX controls... Firefox does not utilize these active x controls due to safety issues.... hmmm.... is there an internet explorer for mac? if not you will probably need to goto the library or a PC Cafe...
  4. i don't think our osha test grade will affect our overall grade for nursing. right? i just watched the video once and scored a 50/60. I was psyched out a few months ago... now i'm just kinda dreading it. i feel as if i still need more time for reading, having fun, and signing my life away. lol
  5. oh my... something is definitely wrong with your email account. Email ---- right away to fix this problem. She will provide you with your username and pw to your Etudes module. from there.... watch the 40 minute video and take the osha test... it consists of 60 questions and you must finish it before school starts.
  6. sorry to burst your bubble... but a few of the chapters are very long... i think you've been reading the "short" chapters which were anywhere between 10-25 pages... try looking further, the other chapters are terrifying almost 60-90 pages! i don't think i'll be able to finish my summer reading but eh... whatever i had too many things going on this summer. i've only read a few chapters btw. did you guys happen to get your badge id? if so, where did you get it? and why do these syllabus's cost so much! I need to buy 5 of them due to the 5 classes i'm taking. each syllabus goes for about 15-30 dollars.
  7. i forwarded you all the emails i got for the family night... you need to make a RSVP. the instructions to rsvp are within the email.. (its a link)
  8. ha, not even close to being done with the reading... the worst part about this is that i didn't take dosage calculations... i need to go over that too. i feel as if i was the only person that didn't raise their hand when the teacher asked for the people that have taken the class to raise their hand. i'm quite stressed already.
  9. Lol probably when clinicals start, tell your friend to lay off the sticky icky :)
  10. oh hey! i remember you! yeah, nice to meet you too. what a coincidence, ha... you should have told me you were walksfar75! although that would have been awkward. heh heh... yeah i went to the nursing office today for my bloodwork results and "invasive" physical.
  11. yeah, it confused me also... I just ended up getting the 7th edition. got my blood work results back... the nurse told me that I was the healthiest person of our class! she told me that my LDL cholesterol (good cholesterol) was higher than my HDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) which is very rare. my triglyceride levels were also very low (really low).
  12. thanks for the info liana, btw my name is tom and i'm asian... can't mistake me for anyone else. i'm the only person with a tattoo on their forearm in the class.
  13. just out of curiosity, has anyone gotten their blood work and urinalysis done? what do they check for? i just got mine done today. this is my first blood work and urinalysis in a decade. i'm somewhat nervous that my results will not fall within normal range (cholesterol, wbc, and etc...) the only reason i'm somewhat worried is because my blood pressure was high, this may be an indicator to more horrific results! oh yeah, just got my hepatitis a/b and tdap shots done today... the tdap shot left my shoulder really sore. -__-;
  14. Heya, yeah go ahead and start reading chapter 40 (Potter & Perry (2009) – Fundamentals of Nursing 7th edition) first, then start reading the rest of the chapters in order. you can get the reading list off the harbor college's website.... http://www.lahc.edu/classes/nursing/N313%20Reading%20and%20VideoDVD%20Listsp10.pdf that's the link... it will tell you everything that you need to know as far as reading goes. Yeah, we are all pretty much stuck with each other for the next two years! We should get to know one another. I don't know anyone from this forum... although it's not too hard to figure out who I am... my username says it all.
  15. i've ordered my books from half.com the day after the orientation and i received all my books but 2. (got all the supplemental books) it seems like some of the ppl selling books really LAG. some books took weeks to be delivered.
