Los Angeles County School of Nursing and Allied Health - Fall 2019

Published

Hi there,

Has anyone applied to LAC School of Nursing for Fall 2019? I thought I would get this post going so we can stay informed and help each other through this waiting process! What are your points that you calculated?

It kind of sucks.. lol I figured with over 80 points I wouldn’t have any issues getting in since the cut off has been between 77-80 the last couple of sessions.. now idk. I dont think I did well on the written part ? May 15th is two days before my birthday! Hopefully good news all around.

I had 87 points before interview. It’s going to be a long week waiting to hear back. I’m so glad the interview is over with though.

I didn’t realize there would be soo many interviews. It was intense for just an exercise. Hope we all did our best. Best wishes guys!

& I agree that we won’t know where we stand until May 15.

I totally agree! I did not think I was going to have any issues and was humbled! I hope you will be able to count an acceptance letter as one of your early bday gifts! I wonder why this was the year they decided to do face to face interviews ?

LVN-RN pre-registration on Friday!! ?

Who’s excited?? This girl. Anyone else on this thread going to be there and did you already pick up your badge or will you be doing so Friday?

I will be there! I’m nervous. Picked up my badge last week

I’m nervous too! I ended up getting my badge today. Couldn’t wait until Friday, lol. Sounds silly but it’s been my dream to go to CONAH and I can’t believe it’s actually happening!!

I actually wanted to go to citrus where I got my lvn, but was accepted to conah. Everyone told me what a blessing it was and how great the program is so I’m happy it turned out this way. Do you know what to expect on Friday? I know we will be ordering our uniforms and paying our fees. What else though? What are we supposed to wear?

Oh my gosh, how funny! I got my LVN at Citrus, too! I graduated in Summer 2009. I live in the San Fernando valley now so Citrus wasn’t really an option for me this time but it was such great program.

I met with Sarah Granger (the dean) last month. She was great and so helpful. She said we would talk about schedules, get more clarity on the wait list, options for student loans and funding/financial aid, and ordering our uniforms (like you said). That’s all I know. I’m sure there’s more stuff.

I think I’m going to go business casual.

Great! I need to talk with someone about financial aid for sure! Will you be working while in the program? Omg! What are the odds? Both citrus alumni! I got an alternate spot in their adn bridge program. As far as the conah waiting list to start this fall, I’d actually rather wait and start in January. That way I can work a lot until then and get another tax return before I start the program.

I, thankfully, will not be working, so that financial aid/student loans will definitely be something we are going to need— whatever that looks like. When I went to Citrus I was married but didn’t have any kids or real responsibilities. Now I have two and a mortgage ??. I was pretty disappointed about starting in the Spring but I’m open to whatever happens. I’ve waited this long to get my RN already ?‍♀️. Great idea to have that extra tax return!

We are supposed to be notified tomorrow, correct?
