Los Angeles County of Nursing - Fall 2014

Published

This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!

Specializes in PICU.

I got the same exact score. I wish they would round up and then we would get the 5 bonus points

I know, i was thinking the same thing about the rounding up...lol. nothing wrong with wishful thinking :)How many points do you have? Without the extra 5 points, I only have 78 points, praying for a miracle :)

BIG HUGE congrats!!!! You passed! YAYYYYYYYY! I just finished and cried in the car. Hahahaha. I wont know for a couple of days. So happy for you!!!!

AHHH! I see you finished the exam! I hope the tears were from tears of joy since i know you murdered that test! :)

How do you feel that you did? Did you think the practice assessments online were harder than the real thing?

I kept you in my thoughts! I hope you did as well as you wanted to.

I felt the practice tests were only slightly more difficult than the real exam. I got hung up on a couple of math problems out of panic and then blanked. Ohhhh no. Those were not tears of joy. I think they were tears of exhaustion and "its finally over". No matter what happens, I always have back up plans A, B, C and D :) One way or another, I am going to help people, even if its not through direct Nursing! I can finish my Bachelor's in Psychology and then apply to PA school, or work in microbiology, there are countless opportunities for us to help save the world and the people in it! We have a strong foundation with our pre-reqs and we all just need to keep marching forward!

Yaaaaaay! Finally, I got my teas results. I feel so happy, I scored 92%; I got those 5 extra points. I can now breath. Nothing depends on me anymore. Good luck to everyone else!

First off, Congratulations on your exam score! I knew you were going to score well & you did! :)

As far as your other reply, you've given me a lot to think about... As a matter of fact, I received an e-mail this morning from the nursing department at CSULB that I would not receive an invitation for an interview.. I called the SON and the counselor told me that I did not receive an invitation because the Chemistry class I took at the community college I attend does not articulate with their Chemistry course. I was pretty bummed but I was happy to know that she told me it wasn't because my grades or my TEAS score weren't competitive enough but because of the Chemistry course...

I had to google that breed... and yes, they are really cute. Enjoy their youth while they can since that's when they tend to be the most playful! :cat:

@Jserrano2113 Although you might not have passed with the score that you wanted, you passed!

Congratulations! :)

Regardless of your score, I think you will get accepted... I will keep you in my thoughts.

THANK YOU! :-)

Well, now at least you know where you stand with CSULB. You still have other universities and County College. Let's hope for the best. :-)

How many points do you have on County's point scale? You got your 5 extra points as well. I have 87 pts if they take pol sci course from my previous degree, which I took in another country, so it wasn't on American gov (I don't think they will consider it). They did say they would look at it. But even if they don't take that course, I still have 84 points. Hopefully, I get in :-)

Did you fill in the bubble for those questions you weren't able to answer? I think you will do fine! When you see your results, I think you're going to see the results you want to. When do you find out?

Beautifully said.

Yeah, part of me is relieved since I can officially take CSULB out of my list but then now I know it's going to come down to either moving for a Bachelor's or staying in LA and getting my ADN. :)

You're points are extremely competitive. Regardless if it's 84 or 87, you're a shoe in! I have 86 points as of right now.

Wow! 86 is great! Congrats! Well, let's all hope for the best. :-) I really hope we all get in, that would be so cool.

I've been reading this thread for a few days, so I thought I should chime in. I applied to the program one week before the deadline and I received my invitation to take the TEAS last Monday. Since I had already taken my TEAS exam, I just sent them my transcripts from ATI. I have 84 points, and I'm hoping to get accepted to County or Pasadena City College. Did anyone else receive a questionaire with the invitation?
