Los Angeles County of Nursing - Fall 2014

Published

This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!

Got my TEAS results! I passed!!!! Not enough for the bonus points but i did better than i felt i did as i submitted "end test" on that computer!!! I have 82 points. Nail biting!!!! Just relieved i passed. I was def worried! Missed the bonus by a few questions. Never the less, i am ecstatic. Good luck to all of us!

Congratulations! :)

Told you that you would pass! Even though you didn't receive the bonus points, you're points are still competitive! You already know that the cut off is from 78 to 82... I think you will be fine.

I won't be comfortable until I know for sure. And I won't know for sure until I have an acceptance letter in my little hands! I'm just going to stay positive and sit tight for a few months. We probably won't here until end of May/June anyway so I'm not going to stress about it for the time being. I stressed through pre-reqs and stressed about the TEAS. The decision is not up to me anymore, I did my part

That is exactly what I told bf... He asked, "You don't look stressed out anymore", and that was my exact response!

Soooo Enzyme mentioned in an earlier post about wanting/planning to do the Bridge program that County has with CSULA. Any of you others interested in doing this?

Oh yes! Most definitely interested in that. Since my goal is BSN, might as well start it and transition a lot quicker!

After Enzyme told me about it, I looked into it more. It sounds ideal and is definitely something I'm considering if I get accepted and decide to go to County.. the only downside is that they only accept 8 students from each CC via lottery.

I've already applied to CSULA this semester, but my points aren't so competitive. If I don't get accepted to CSULA, I'm gonna definitely try to do the collaborative program. Do you guys have the necessary classes to transfer out to CSULA already?

I've already finished all my prerequisites and all the CSU areas. Like you, I have also applied to Bachelor's programs.

When are you supposed to find out about your bachelors acceptance status?

If all universities stick to their timeline, for one school I should be finding out during the week of April 15 and for the other school, tentative standings come out late May/early June and their acceptance/rejection notifications come out early July. County's acceptance status comes in between! :)

Yay!!! So you should hear in about a month! I just got notification from COC today that i am invited to take the TEAS 4/3. So i will send them my transcript and then go in the "lottery". From their detailed timeline, we should find out in April of acceptance status. Eeeeeeeeeeks. County and COC are my top two. I wish County would notify earlier than mid June. They are my first choice, but if i get selected in the lottery, that would be risky to pass it up. So, IF i get so lucky, i will accept and then wait to hear from County and go from there. I would be thankful for either program due to the competitive nature of these programs in LA. I just hope we all end up where we are supposed to :)

Yes, first school in a month... passing by so sow, yet so fast.

When in April? and by COC, do you mean College of the Canyons? Congratulations by the way; one step closer! :)

Ahhh, me too. So nerve wrecking. If I get accepted into Chico, I will end up accepting and paying the $200 deposit on the 1st of May (which will hurt to lose A LOT in the case that I end up getting accepted somewhere else and not going to Chico)... Like you, I don't to risk it either..

Yes, COC. One step closer is right! At least i will know sometime in April what is going on with one of my schools. It will be a relief when this is all over with!

So you are waiting for Chico and what other program (besides County)?
