Los Angeles County of Nursing - Fall 2014

Published

This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!

:nailbiting: can imagine how did you feel about those bonus points, but the good part that TEAS is over! I wish you good luck with both colleges! If you will get accepted to both of them, which one will you choose?

Valley College seems the slowest one lol. They just started to accept applications from April 1st until April 30th. Wondering when they are going to send acceptance letters? Probably in august LOL )))))))

BAHAHAHAH!! "August" that was good. Made me laugh...I'm not familiar with Valley's timelines, but I would assume as long as all applications and teas are submitted by 4/30, they should be able to notify May or June!

Funny you should ask about my "choice". I have pondered this recently. County has always been my dream school. Mainly because of the clinical locations and the fact they are merit based and not lottery. If I were to get an acceptance from COC in April, I will happily "accept" it. However, I am not 100% sure I would turn down County since I have been chewing my nails to get an acceptance from them since I applied in January. So I guess it will just all come down to my "gut feeling" when the time comes. I could only be so grateful to receive ONE let alone TWO acceptance letters!!!!

What about you? Where is your first choice?

Yeah, I agree. With 90 points you're guaranteed to get in.

My first choice is LACC. This college is the closest to my house, clinicals down the street from the college. I think location is important since classes and clinicals start at 7 AM) Valley and Pierce is fine as well. I don't know why, but I'm scared of County school like hell)))). Actually I know why, maybe because I've met a girl who failed 2 classes two weeks before graduation! Did you get a paper where it's says that 61% of students completed the program within three years of enrollment? Where is the rest? Its freaking me out. Well, I'm not confident I guess. Since prerequisites) I'm one of those annoying people who always cry " I faaaailed" but after pass with a good grade. I'm not looking for an easy-breezy program. I just want instructors guide me.

Thanks guys for saying that) I will believe after I will hold my acceptance letter in my hands!

every program is going to be hard as hell. But my philosophy is you get out what you put in. I definitely understand though!!

I'm totally agree! I've never heard that nursing program was easy for someone. I've met lot's of nursing students and every one said that nursing program is the most challenging thing they ever have done. I've met 3rd semester student from county yesterday. She said: "it's very hard, but doable." Don't listen me, guys)))))) I am freaking out all the time!! With reason or without LOL

lol. I totally get it! Its the fear of the unknown that we will get comfortable with

Hi everyone , I've been reading these threads for a while now. I applied for the Summer session at LA County. I must have taken the TEAS exam with some of you. I just wanted to share that I called on Monday and they said they have 25 spots available for the LVN bridge program II. We should receive our letters by the end of April. She also said that they do make exceptions based on special circumstances they might take 27 spots. So lets keep praying.

Awesome job! Good luck to you! I think most of us on this thread are the generic applicants, but still great information as they will probably do the bridge applicants then us! That would be great if they are on time this year :)

Good luck to get Into the LVN bridge program! Probably right after they will start working on generic rn program)))

I applied to Valley College. I swear, it was the easiest application process lol. Since I took all prerequisites in LACCD, they dont require us to order any transcripts. Their application just one page. I filled it out and submitted right away. No information session ( I wish they had one ), no essay, nothing. They said they notify via email, and usually the email will be in the spam.
