Los Angeles County of Nursing - Fall 2014

This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!

I've been reading this thread for a few days, so I thought I should chime in. I applied to the program one week before the deadline and I received my invitation to take the TEAS last Monday. Since I had already taken my TEAS exam, I just sent them my transcripts from ATI. I have 84 points, and I'm hoping to get accepted to County or Pasadena City College. Did anyone else receive a questionaire with the invitation?

I received the invitation for the teas long time ago. I took the teas and got my results this morning. Now, we just wait. If you took the teas just send them the results through ATI website and that's it. I also applied to PCC :-). Good luck!

Oh, and you have to mail them your filled out questionnaire since you are not taking the teas with them.

I know, i was thinking the same thing about the rounding up...lol. nothing wrong with wishful thinking :)How many points do you have? Without the extra 5 points, I only have 78 points, praying for a miracle :)

I think 77 points, but honestly, I'm working as an LVN right now so I don't mind getting the bonus point next semester to give me 78 points. 78 points might get you in, from what I hear that's usually the cut-off.

Wouldn't you qualify now for the extra point working as an LVN, which would bring you to 78 points?

Maybe I'm not sure though because I work for a Home Health agency and on the County website it says a Health Care facility. I'm not sure if it'll count, but I'll call them tomorrow thanks! I didn't even consider that

so I called and now I'm bummed. The school said that had I submitted a letter from my employer before the Feb 15th deadline, it would have counted. So I screwed myself out of a bonus point. :arghh: Oh well, staying positive because this means next semester I'll have 2 bonus points

THAT IS EXACTLY RIGHT!!! You are still in the running for this round until they tell you otherwise.

Got my TEAS results! I passed!!!! Not enough for the bonus points but i did better than i felt i did as i submitted "end test" on that computer!!! I have 82 points. Nail biting!!!! Just relieved i passed. I was def worried! Missed the bonus by a few questions. Never the less, i am ecstatic. Good luck to all of us!

It's okay, no matter what there is always next semester. That's what I tell myself, because January is not long after August if I don't get in this semester. I'm okay with whatever happens. We did the best we could... Cheer up, don't let it get you down :)
