This is for those of us that will be applying to LA county college of nursing and allied health's fall 2014 semester. I will be submitting my application for the basic RN program tomorrow... Yayyy!!! I am beyond excited, I can't believe this time has finally come!
Hey excited1 and Jserrano2113! :)Haven't been on here these past two days but I took both of your advice and called the school on Thursday instead of waiting another day! Like you mentioned excited1, they told me that they had sent out a letter a week ago and I told them that I hadn't received it. Low and behold, it was in my mail box the next day (which was Friday)! The only date to take the TEAS stated on my letter was for March 21st (for any of those wondering) but since I already took it, all I have to do is send the transcript!
To all of those awaiting your results, I wish you all the best of luck and that you receive the scores that you desire!
Question: Did any of you apply to other schools aside from County? If so, which ones? :)
I applied to LACC and PCC, but County is my first choice :-)
@Excited1: Thank you! :) By any chance, did you purchase a practice assessment on the ATI website?@Enzyme: I hear that PCC is also has an excellent program. I wish I would've applied to another ADN program
I heard that too about PCC. Pcc is pretty far from where I live, but that is my backup plan. I di not want to put all my eggs in one basket :-). LACC is my home college; I took all the prereqs there, but I would still prefer to do the nursing program at County as no other program is as good as their is.

Yes. I purchased both online assessments. I am irritated because i am scoring lower than my "comfort zone" on these. I hope what everyone is saying is true. They are saying the book tests are easier than the real exam, and the online tests are more difficult than the real exam. I hope that will be my experience!
@Enzyme: LACC is my home college but I went to SMC instead. I hear you, County is the best for an ADN program. I've done so much research on it and no one really has anything bad to say about it (with the exception of the professors being tough, which is a good thing if you ask me). County is actually my back up as I've applied to several Bachelor's programs.
@excited1: I vouch for that. When I did the practice exams on the book, I kept thinking how easy the TEAS was going to be. I then decided to purchase the practice exam, Form A, and realized that it was much harder than what I originally. When I took the actual TEAS, it was hard but not as hard as I imagined it.
My adjusted individual total score on the TEAS was 86%. In complete honesty, I had an unforeseen event during the coming weeks of my test date so I didn't get to study as much as I wanted.... What sections are you having a hard time with? There are some links I can send to you that perhaps might help you...

that is a great score! My weakness is the chemistry and earth science section. Math i am doing okay in, i just need to be careful with my numbers.
Thank you SO much......So since I have been studying all of that, sounds like there will be NO surprises. Just simply taking the time to read the question and ALL possible answers. As you know, since you purchased the online assessment, they give you a breakdown of the topics missed on the exam. I took form A online, got a 69% (panicked) then studied only the missed items and then took form A again. The second time, I received an 82%. Then I studied what I missed off the second one. Then I took form B again today and got 67%. Partially because I just selected an answer in English and Reading because I was ONLY focusing on Science and Math. The math questions on form B seemed more abstract which threw me off knowing I was against the timer. I'm comfortable in Reading and English, so now I will just focus on Math and Science tonight and tomorrow. My test is Monday morning. I'm taking it at a PSI center on the computer. My results should be available within 48 hours. My girls at County were supposed to have their results Friday and they are still waiting (Enzyme and Smylee)

Where else did you apply? I plan on doing the bridge later; the priority is to get into a program, get a job and then advance. This is my second career so I don't feel like wasting time :-).
You scored great on the teas. I am still waiting on my results, hopefully I will be able to see them on Monday.
I see you like kitties. I have two kittens as well :)

Yup! Still waiting...
@excited1: Your welcome! That was one of the two lists that I used to study for the TEAS & felt that most of what is listed on there was on the test. Just remember to breathe and take your time reading things (esp. labels on maps, legends, etc).
I was also going to take it at a PSI center but ended up taking it at CSULA in the paper/pencil form towards the end of February.

Honestly, I think that they will post our scores on Monday or Tuesday, that's if county sent the test to ATI
