Los Angeles County Nursing Allied Health Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

The application period for Los Angeles County Nursing Allied Health Spring 2021 is now open from Jun 15th - Jul 15th!

I applied today but I am waiting to send in my TEAS and Transcripts until I hear from 3 more schools for fall2020.

Who else is applying for Spring 2021?

Regarding being waitlisted, we have until October 16, today, to respond to the preliminary acceptance letter. Orientation is one of the last days of October. (I don't know if they are keeping a waitlist. I did see someone comment that they missed an orientation due to hospitalization. That person lost their spot, but was able to be placed as next person up on the waitlist that the school apparently had at that time.)

Pm me with FB messenger info and I will start a chat.

I was also accepted to Conah and tried to PM you through ALLNURSES message system, but it said I can "only send zero messages per day" and it has said that for the past 3 days.  Is there a way to find you on FB or did you start a private group page on FB?

I was also accepted for CONAH Spring 2021. I'm very excited. I wasn't expecting to get in.

Would you mind sharing your points? I plan to retake English and Sociology which will put me at 81 points for next semester. I'd have 78 for this semester but I didn't take my TEAS in time. Thanks!

I think I had 83 but I don't even know if my DD214 ever arrived. You should definitely try to up your points. For next semester, they start the new application requirement, so every applicant will have taken all of the prerequisites on the list.

Additionally, many programs have closed or reduced  the number of incoming students for their cohort. If I didn't get in, I was planning on retaking Anatomy through Westcott / Brandman since I got a B in that class. You may want to join the various TEAS FB groups. Pay attention to the quiz / practice questions on the pages and look through the files section of each group. Good Luck!

83 is really good! I got an 87% on the TEAS and the CONAH point scale works best for my academic history. As you know every school is different and many favor prior healthcare work experience. I applied to 13 schools.. hopefully I get into one. I regret not applying to CONAH but I would have had only 1 week to prep for the TEAS. I saw that Navyflightdeck got in with 80 points.. maybe I should have applied this semester.

I believe it's either HS transcripts through mail or GED test scores, but you should call just to make sure!

Hey blueestar, did you get accepted anywhere so far?

I got rejected to Moorpark and COC yet again. I’m feeling so discouraged. I want to give up.

Hi! I'm still waiting to hear back from Glendale, Cypress, and Pasadena. I also applied to 4 Cal States for their BSN program but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get in since they're very competitive and impacted. Don't lose hope! If anything try to retake some of the prereq classes and try to get A's to boost your points when you reapply, which is what I'm doing right now! I'm retaking anatomy and physiology for the Winter term just in case I don't get accepted to any ADN programs and hopefully I can get A's in those classes and reapply for the Fall ?

Hi,

Please do not give up hope.

I had to take micro and chem at Los Angeles Trade Tech due to the classes at Mission (my home school) being full. It was during my classes that I found out that Trade Tech has a nursing program.

The requirements for Trade Tech are not as stringent compared to other programs. They even say that they accept everybody. The only catch is that everyone is placed on their waiting list (of about 2 years). During the information session, the program director said they offer TEAS training classes for free.

Since you are waiting to get accepted, you might as well submit to Trade Tech knowing you will get in (use it as a backup). You can work and save up money during the 2 year wait, take other classes, or even decline the admission if you get accepted elsewhere.

I specifically chose LACONAH as I want to stay and work at County-USC.

I had a fabulous experience with the chem and micro professors at Trade Tech. If I had to choose a different program, I would look into Trade Tech. The faculty and director were super nice. I was able to get my transcript pre-approved because I scheduled an advisement appointment outside of their normal evaluation schedule. The director took the time to personally review everything, which was greatly appreciated.

No matter what, you will get in somewhere. You only need one acceptance. Good luck!

Hello I actually applied to LATTC and took the TEAS in September 2019.  They wait time is usually 2 years or 4 semesters. But now with COVID, I think the cohorts are getting pushed back an extra 1 or 2 semesters so now it’s about a 3 year wait. I was expecting to start Spring 2022 but now it may be even later than that. I figured this time I should apply to other programs for Fall 2021 admissions. I also want to apply to CSULA or CSULB. If I don’t get accepted anywhere then I’ll have no choice but to wait.

If you didn't get into CONAH don't worry about it. County hires plenty of nurses from other schools too. Just apply when you have your license ?

Hi I know this is a very old forum, but I just recently got my email to get interviewed so I was wondering if anyone can tell me the process of the interviews portion? Like what exactly will we be doing? Also was it difficult, sorry I am just a bit nervous cause I want to get in.
