Los Angeles County Nursing Allied Health Spring 2021

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

The application period for Los Angeles County Nursing Allied Health Spring 2021 is now open from Jun 15th - Jul 15th!

I applied today but I am waiting to send in my TEAS and Transcripts until I hear from 3 more schools for fall2020.

Who else is applying for Spring 2021?

For those of you guys who got accepted, do you guys mind sharing how much points you had on your application?

I had 90 points (4.0 on all required courses and 20 points for TEAS; also would have gotten max grade point under the new requirement).

Please don't give up. If you can, retake the required courses to bring up your GPA. You can do it!

To retake the classes, isn't it after 5-6 years of taking those classes?

I don't know because I did not have any retakes but a classmate from fall semester when I was taking anatomy told me she retook classes. You might want to call the schools you are interested in and see what their policy is for retaking classes. If they take the higher grade, take advantage of online instruction since you can take your pre-reqs at the same time through different school districts.

My undergrad was private and the poli sci requirement did not meet GCC's requirement so I took a poli sci class through GCC while I was enrolled at Los Angeles Mission College. My  personal experience with overloading on my units by taking classes at different districts was really good. You just need to be organized as dates are slightly different.

If what my former classmates said is true about retaking classes, try to retake as many as you can handle.

Contact the schools and see what their policy is regarding retakes before you do anything, though.

Good luck!

Someone posted on this very thread that CONAH takes the highest grade for repeated classes which explains why my classmate chose to retake classes. So it makes sense.

Hi everyone! I got accepted as well!

For the prerequisite questions, I called multiple times to verify they would accept specific classes. Coming from CSUF my COMM 100 class did NOT fulfill the Speech/Communication requirements (Not a requirement for acceptance but yes for BSN Bridge). Also, I asked if they accepted UCLA Extension science courses and they do NOT. A&P I and II are not accepted together also.

For recency, only the science classes are looked at within 5 years. If classes are retaken, only the higher grade is accepted so always aim for an A.

I attended an info session before quarantine and they actually encourage you to retake the science courses until you qualify. There is no limit on repeats.

I applied 2 times prior to being accepted and made sure to retake classes and got A's.

Everyone is at different stages in their lives, whether they are accepted or not. The way I saw my situation when I didn't get accepted was "there is more for me to learn to better prepare me for nursing school". Best believe there was.

Good luck. Don't give up.

The more school applications the higher the odds. Fortunately I was picked up on the first application with CONAH. I put out 8 and calculated 12 percent chance each program multiplied by eight applications and it happened. The more the the better. Never give up and be persistent

Thanks everyone for your support! I won't be giving up, I'm still waiting on 5 different schools and if I don't get in to any of them, I'll definitely retake some classes to boost my GPA and reapply again!

I was also accepted for CONAH Spring 2021. I'm very excited. I wasn't expecting to get in.

Congratulations!

Was anybody else waitlisted? I’m just trying to gage how many other alternates there are. I know it’s not fully possible from a forum but it I haven’t seen anybody else mention being waitlisted.
