Yes; we are trying to figure out how we are going to make our finances stretch as many of us were counting on financial aid. Since we are not in school, we can't get financial aid. Many of us also purchased over $840 worth of textbooks. Our uniforms and supplies were ordered back in November or December. We were notified by email on December 29th. First day of orientation was supposed to be January 11th. We have a virtual meeting with the dean and faculty tomorrow. As much as it was a downer for people planning on applying, those accepted for fall were also hit quite hard. We are all in this together.

They postponed Spring semester and made the announcement 2 weeks before the first week of school (orientation). Faculty and staff are practicing nurses and medical professionals. They were deployed to work sites. It came as a shock to our cohort as many students resigned from their jobs ahead of classes. So while application is closed, our cohort is with you in spirit.

Los Angeles County Nursing Allied Health Spring 2021
Hi, Please do not give up hope. I had to take micro and chem at Los Angeles Trade Tech due to the classes at Mission (my home school) being full. It was during my classes that I found out that Trade Tech has a nursing program. The requirements for Trade Tech are not as stringent compared to other programs. They even say that they accept everybody. The only catch is that everyone is placed on their waiting list (of about 2 years). During the information session, the program director said they offer TEAS training classes for free. Since you are waiting to get accepted, you might as well submit to Trade Tech knowing you will get in (use it as a backup). You can work and save up money during the 2 year wait, take other classes, or even decline the admission if you get accepted elsewhere. I specifically chose LACONAH as I want to stay and work at County-USC. I had a fabulous experience with the chem and micro professors at Trade Tech. If I had to choose a different program, I would look into Trade Tech. The faculty and director were super nice. I was able to get my transcript pre-approved because I scheduled an advisement appointment outside of their normal evaluation schedule. The director took the time to personally review everything, which was greatly appreciated. No matter what, you will get in somewhere. You only need one acceptance. Good luck!

Hand Sanitizer and natural nails
Heard good things about biotin. Will try that as I am going crazy with my nails. Would love to only paint my nails for fun and not necessity. Thanks to the OP for starting this thread and everyone else for contributing.

Hand Sanitizer and natural nails
My regular nail length is cut to the quick and I can't go any shorter. Having the nail split while short is a huge pain. Spent way too much on a manicure at a salon and it did not help when I removed the polish. Been this way for almost a year.

Hand Sanitizer and natural nails
I am starting nursing school but have a problem with the nail on my left middle finger splitting lengthwise. I keep by nails very short (due to years of playing instruments). The split causes my hair to catch when I am washing it, etc. I plan on using Zoya Natural Nail series. The top coat is satin so it will not look like a manicure. The formula is supposed to make the nail stronger. I hope that I will be able to stop painting my nails after a while. My color polishes are Zoya and I love them. The company was one of the first to remove harmful carcinogens and endocrine disruptors. On the rare occasion that I do my nails, I noticed that my at home manicure lasts for about 2 weeks. It would last longer but I could not stand the length (I cut my nails weekly).

Someone posted on this very thread that CONAH takes the highest grade for repeated classes which explains why my classmate chose to retake classes. So it makes sense.

I don't know because I did not have any retakes but a classmate from fall semester when I was taking anatomy told me she retook classes. You might want to call the schools you are interested in and see what their policy is for retaking classes. If they take the higher grade, take advantage of online instruction since you can take your pre-reqs at the same time through different school districts. My undergrad was private and the poli sci requirement did not meet GCC's requirement so I took a poli sci class through GCC while I was enrolled at Los Angeles Mission College. My personal experience with overloading on my units by taking classes at different districts was really good. You just need to be organized as dates are slightly different. If what my former classmates said is true about retaking classes, try to retake as many as you can handle. Contact the schools and see what their policy is regarding retakes before you do anything, though. Good luck!

I had 90 points (4.0 on all required courses and 20 points for TEAS; also would have gotten max grade point under the new requirement). Please don't give up. If you can, retake the required courses to bring up your GPA. You can do it!
