Los Angeles County College of Nursing - Spring 2020

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the Spring 2020 Basic (Generic) program. The school website posted dates for an information session for prospective students. I'll be attending May 31, 2019, and wanted to see if anyone else is going to the same day or any of the other ones?

Application window opens June 15th for Spring 2020. I hope this thread will help answer admission/application questions and get connected with other applicants or those who are currently in the program.

I believe I had 79 points and I got a waitlist email. However, I’m still not sure if I calculated everything correctly.

I believe once we get the official acceptance letter in the mail we will know what our actual points are.

Did everyone fill out there on-line sheet for live scan? It's a bit tricky make sure to follow the instructions in the email.

I was accepted as well! I got an email on OCT 1. I had han 83 score w/out the 5 from the interview.

Do you guys know when we will be doing the background check and health screening? Also, is everyone attending Nov 1 for the pre-registration? Not sure if I need to bring or prepare anything for that day..

I was told that after you submit the live scan information sheet it can take 3-5 days to be cleared by HR to schedule the background check. The health screening is usually done the same day as the background check. I called yesterday to ask about what we need for the health screen. If you have a copy of your immunization records/Flu shot/TB test/recent physical I would bring it to the background check just in case.

I will be there Nov. 1st. I am not sure what we need to bring or prepare either.

I also got accepted into the program. ☺️

I just completed submission of live scan online form.

I will attend Nov 1st pre-registration. I believe that this is mandatory to keep the spot.

@Hiro welcome to the team!

Has any one heard back from HR regarding live scan dates/scheduling?

FYI: The pre-admission advisement questionnaire that we received in the mail can be submitted on the day of the pre-registration session on November 1st even those the paper says prior. I called to verify this morning.

We cant do our health screening somewhere else? I made an appt for a physical and tb and flu shot.

I believe you can, just bring copies/proof/records to the live scan appointment so they know its complete and updated. I'm doing my health screen (physical, Flu shot, TB test, immunizations) tomorrow at Kaiser with my MD. I plan to have copies for the school and my job.
