Los Angeles County College of Nursing - Spring 2020

I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the Spring 2020 Basic (Generic) program. The school website posted dates for an information session for prospective students. I'll be attending May 31, 2019, and wanted to see if anyone else is going to the same day or any of the other ones?

Application window opens June 15th for Spring 2020. I hope this thread will help answer admission/application questions and get connected with other applicants or those who are currently in the program.

I got my email invitation as well! @Terri Yim Yes it says respond via email. And I believe we email ---------------- directly who was the person that emailed us.

I got an invite as well for the interview. Does anyone know if there’s a dress code we have to follow? Thanks

Since it's an interview, the safe go to attire would be business casual and something comfortable for the group interview. I'm assuming the group interview will have us be moving around doing some kind of task to measure how well we work others.

For those you got the invites, do you guys mind sharing how many points you all apply with. I didn't get the invites at this point :'(, I thought I apply with 80 points if I calculated correctly

@Niiin I have 83 points. Have you checked your spam box?? I would even call the school to confirm they got the right email.

Hey, you mentioned -------------- emailed you? I got an email from a different person & I was wondering if that has something to do if you’re part of the alternate list or a part of the top students who scored the highest? Though I had responded to the email and am nervous right now!

I don’t think it matters who emailed us. Someone with an H name emailed me. They probably divided the list between a few people. I read last cohorts thread on this site, and they said there were tons of people at the interviews. It’s probably too many people for one one person. I’m super nervous too!!!!!

Oh same as mine. That means its really competitive! Tried browsing through old threads too from previous cohorts, which made me really nervous since the last cutoff was really high ? But i really really hope we’d get in!

Also I’m just curious! Does anyone know how many people they take every term? Cause I read from previous threads from previous cohorts they select 50 then 20 more for alternates? Which idk if thats before the interview or after the interview. Any info can really help! Thanks
