I wanted to start a thread for those applying to the Spring 2020 Basic (Generic) program. The school website posted dates for an information session for prospective students. I'll be attending May 31, 2019, and wanted to see if anyone else is going to the same day or any of the other ones?

Application window opens June 15th for Spring 2020. I hope this thread will help answer admission/application questions and get connected with other applicants or those who are currently in the program.

It looks like your GPA might be effecting your points. I agree with your friend, you should to just apply, at least the application is free. It's probably too late to retake some classes for the Spring2020 cohort. But hopefully you won't need to and get accepted this application cycle.

I heard the interview invites are around 4 weeks prior to the acceptance notifications. So we should be expecting an invite last week of August, or the first week of September.

Just wondering if anyone has heard back regarding the interviews? Checking my email and spam box every day ?

I haven't received anything yet either. I anticipating the last week of August and the first week September. I would call the school during those weeks to see when they will send out interview invites. Trust me the wait is killing me too!

Hopefully they send out the invites for interviews next week....I keep hearing ppl saying last week of August and first week of September.... I would be out of town during first week of September, I really hope they don't schedule interviews on that week.... I'm really worried now. (not that I would get the interview, but who knows, right. Just trying to be confident... ), Does anyone knows What will happened if you don't show up for the invited interview (on top of loosing that 5 points)? If I would've known this info earlier, I would never plan our family Vaca on that week...

Hey everyone! So I called the school and was told there are no interview dates yet, but as soon as they get them, they’ll send emails out. Crossing fingers!

From gathering previous cohort trends, we would likely get an email invite for interview September 1st, but because it falls on a weekend and Monday is Labor day, I am assuming the latest would be September 3rd. This is just my hunch because Fall 2019 cohort majority received there email invites exactly a month before they sent out acceptance letters (April 15th for interviews and May 15th for acceptance letters). So in our case September 1st interview invites and October 1st letter for acceptance. Regarding dates for interviews that would be addressed on the letters sent out for invitations for interviews.

I believe if you don't show up for the interview you can still get accepted if your points meet or is above the point cut off. Me for example, I have 82-83 points with out the interview, but with the the bonus 5 points from the interview (if I pass) that would put me at 87-88 points. Now lets say the cut off points for Spring 2020 applicants is 86, technically I should be accepted. But without the interview points I would be rejected and feeling really sad and hopeless. Unless! the cut off points happens to be 82, and I still get accepted without the interview points. All of this of course is just my theory on the whole thing. Hope that helps!

I have no idea, but it is probably going to be along the lines of, Why do you want to be a nurse?

Which actually is a good questions to ask all of you guys. Why do you want to be a nurse and why did you choose LAC+CONAH?

I want to be a nurse because I want to be a critical/trauma nurse. I have been a LVN working post-acute for almost a decade and realize I would thrive as a nurse in that field of care. LAC+CONAH is one, very close to where I live and so are the clinical sites, and second, with all my current prerequisites its the only program that I can apply to. Third, the program seems to have a great reputation in preparing their nurses to be successful.

I'm excited to hear what all you guys have to say.

I just received an email inviting me to the interview. It says

Morning Session: 1000-1100

Afternoon Session: 1430-1530

I'm confused with the times. Can someone elaborate?

Interview invites have gone out! The times are in military time, so 1000-1100 is 10am-11am. 1230-1530 is 2:30pm-3:30pm.

So, Im assuming if you didnt get a invite today, you were not able to meet required points of interview

I just got an email invitation to the interview as well! Do we just respond to this email?
