Lord- Coronavirus drama

Published

A teacher at a school in my district was just at a conference in SF and went home "feeling ill". Never mind that the school nurse just checked him- he is afebrile, no respiratory symptoms, no sore throat- just "feels ill". He proceeded to tell anyone and everyone as he exited the building that he was at a conference in SF and going home sick with possible coronavirus. ? Seriously the man should be fired for stupidity. Mass pandemonium and panic now...

Common Sense advice posted in local paper from 1st person in my area to be positive for virus:

Observe preventative practices to avoid the disease such as

1. washing hands with soap and water for 20 seconds;

2. covering your mouth and nose with your elbow when you cough or sneeze;

3. clean surfaces frequently including countertops, light switches, cell phones, remotes and other frequently touched items;

4. especially staying home if you are feeling sick.

Is it the job of the housekeepers or not? I think the teacher should just do it herself or leave a request for cleaners to refill but I do understand her consternation that no one has filled the darned things routinely.

Why is life so complicated?

It's really not complicated at all. Hard hard is it for the teacher to let someone know she needs her sanitizer refilled?

Apparently it is just as hard for the teachers to let someone know that they are running low on clorox wipes. I just got a call from my principle to see if I had any wipes cause teachers are complaining that they don't have any. Did anyone care to ask me or inform the facility manager?! Nope they just complain to the principle.

You know how hard it is to leave a note when you realize something's empty!

I just cleaned out my pantry and threw out FIVE empty cereal boxes! My own family can't even handle when something runs out :banghead:

I think your family and my family are in cahoots with each other....

I always get it wasn't me it was "so in so" which usually means their 3 year old brother who can't even reach the top shelf of the pantry even with a stool. Sadly my other children consist of one adult who still lives at home and two teenagers.

My kids do this ALL THE TIME! Makes me crazy. Or they put it back when there's just a tiny bit left. God forbid they should have to put the bag in the trash & break down the box to put in recycling. ?

My attendance clerk notified me that a student has not been to school for 8 days. When she spoke with mom, mom said she was self-quarantining because her uncle died "unexpectedly." And the kids have had the same sx of Covid-19. Cough, congestion. (In Texas we have full blown allergy season) Fever? NO. Did uncle travel to level 2-3 areas? NO. Was he on a cruise ship? NO. Have you spoken the county health dept? "They said to take precautions like what is on the news." What did the pediatrician say? "I only took one of my children and they had walking pneumonia." I told her if you sincerely suspect Covid-19, I suggest you call the health department again to request testing. Mom also mentioned she has an immunocompromised child with a lung tumor AND she "is in the medical field."

Plus you need an MD note to cover these absences.

It has officially spiraled! (In my world!)
