OMG, why am i being punished? after spending each day studying and preparing for this damn exam, only to find out I failed!!!! This time, my computer went all the way up to 110. What the hell am I doing wrong???? Ive used Kaplan q banks, hurst review, Saunders, finished the lacharity book and read the 35 page study guide. I feel like such a failure! how could this be? this is the last time i waste my money on quick results for this money hungry company!!!
I got very good grades all through out University, high school and Nursing school. In fact Nursing is my second degree and now the only thing preventing me from working is this cursed computerized RN examination!! Im so angry, depress, defeated!! Ive already wasted 400 dollars taking this exam, now Im gonna have to pay another 200, OMG!! This aint fair, upon all the prayers, sacrifices, constant studying, yet it feels like Kaplan didnt help at all!! alot of stuff on the exam were things ive never heard of , nor studied. So much for prayers and hard work. Ive already told myself that if I dont pass this exam, then suicide is an option.

i would say dont think about what happened to you but go for what you have to do so it dsnt repeat.I failed twice with 123 questions. I had used saunders,PDA,Kplan online ,good thinking any many more.my every 5th 6th two back to back questions were SATA for 75 questions than i was getting after every 8-9 th question. I had two math, one positioning, one put in order. i remembr half from questions i got with options n i had write them doen all of them i recalled, checked my report from board. i had questions from aging , herbal prep as well materrnity n pharmacology.
i have friends all passed except me.
so i thought i had bad time bcz i also couldnt pass still endless study n efforts.
i wasted 600 bucks on twice exam as well500 for kplan.
my nxt plan is start with my weak /below level categories review content watch video make study mop like for a particular consition wt is defenation for it, wt r causes, which tests to do, pathophysio n treatement n complication last patient education. than do 100 questions next day n find questions from all over places you can to practice questions to use content.
u r fail when you fail to move on and stop practising to achieve your goal.
lets study again n get RN licence

If you don't really mean this, then knock it off, because it's nothing to joke about. If you do really mean it, get to a mental health professional NOW.
As to the test, where are your weaknesses? Are you focusing on them? When you're taking the exam, do you pick an answer and then change it?

For some, Kaplan does work. For others, it's a waste of time. Wait for your Candidate Performance Report to arrive and see if you've made any improvements in the areas you were weakest the first time. If you got decent grades throughout school, I doubt that content is the problem. When you're doing NCLEX questions, read the rationales whether you answered the question correctly or not to see why the answer is that particular one. Look for certain words and phrases in both the question and answers to help you see if there's something that points you toward a particular answer.
Personally, I used NCLEX 4000 and Saunders 6E for the questions that I did. When I studied, it wasn't primarily for content review, I figured I'd had enough of that in school. Instead, I did the questions to learn how to better porifice the NCLEX questions and to train myself to slow down and read the question (and answers) a couple times to be sure I wasn't missing any key words that I might otherwise have glossed/skipped over, leading me to misread the question. I'm very guilty of that... and it probably cost me a few points on various exams during nursing school. I doubt that it cost me a letter grade as this would have been maybe 2-3 points per exam, but still, it's lost points. On the NCLEX, you can't absorb a loss like that because the test is adaptive. If you answer a question wrong, the next question will be "easier" and potentially at or below passing standard, so now you have to get the next one or two right to stay above passing standard.

I have failed twice and I just tell myself that is ok. My time to be a nurse has not come yet. I go thru all the emotions but I know that my day will come & is ok. Life is precious, keep strong and allow yourself to go thru the emotions. We are humans & we hurt but we are strong. You can do it, your time will come all at the right time. I tell you this because I have been in your situation. I just tested again for the third time & don't know my result as California does not participate in quick results. As I wait here now 2 weeks, I tell myself that is ok whichever the outcome is. God has a plan for all of us. Keep strong.
Thank you Maelena and everyone else for the support. Ive called the hotline, and feeling slightly better. I just cant believe this is happening again. I actually feel like I did better on this exam than the first time, since I knew alot more of the content and I got alot more questions...but still failed. Once again, the topics that Im really good at did NOT appear on the test. What happend to all the delegation and prioritization questions that Ive been doing with the Lacharity book? I only got like ONE delegation and the rest were random conference questions on HIV and meds..stuff Ive never learned thru nursing school or studying!!!At this rate, I probably wont be able to work till next year. Everything I planned out just went straight into the toilet. They just HAD to raise the difficulty level the year before my NCLEX exam. >_> All I can do now, is wait for my CPR and see where I did bad on.

Try to get a nurse tech position somewhere. Look for a CNA position to get your foot in the door somewhere while you study.
YOU CAN DO THIS!
