Looking for the PERFECT ink pen ;)

Published

Hi, I've been trying to find the perfect ink pen, so I can buy several to stash in my locker and always have one. It seems ink pens tend to be hard to come by some days. I don't want to waste a bunch of money buying new pens all the time that I don't really like.

I do NOT want Gel ink. I prefer a medium point that writes dark and smoothly, not too big around and not real small.

Do you have a favorite pen???

Zebra F-402 Everyone at work knows if they see one, it is MINE and they return it to me! LOL I make a HUGE deal if my pen goes missing! I've never (knock on wood) lost one forever at work...at home is another story. LOL

Like the pen addict that I freely admit to being, I keep coming back to this thread :smokin:

My favorites pens are:

Pilot P500 (I can write in those dang tight spaces on the report sheet now)

Zebra Z-grip gel

I recently discovered Sharpie ink pens. They don't smear and have good flow. They aren't gel. I don't know the name but they recently came out with ones that are retractable which will be good for nursing school. The retractable are a little fat for my tastes but they're still comfortable.

i just got a new set of pens yesterday..

uni JETSTREAM 101 1.0

its a rollerball but writes like a ballpoint..go figure..love it!

I like the 4-color Bic pens....they're cheap, and I have a system for my colors....black for documenting, blue for all my notes, red for allergies or critical lab values or anything else I need to monitor, and green when I'm feeling spunky

That is an awesome idea, the way you organize your ink colors! I think you just gave me a new idea to incorporate into my nursing. Thx!:)

Sharpie pens are my favorite. I wish the ink was just a tad bit darker but it is the most comfy and smearproof non-ballpoint pen. I also like Pentel EnerGel and Pilot V5s in 0.5. 0.7 mm of anything smears for me.

As an admitted pen addict/freak, I need to stay away from this thread :smokin:

I have an addiction to office supplies. Pens, post-it's, sticky flags, notebooks, etc. It's actually quite serious. I am getting ready to start my prereqs and did some seriously extensive research on what supplies I need to stock up on. Ha!

The pen I use at work is a Pilot Easytouch retractable fine point. It is the most glorious instrument I have encountered in quite some time.

My previous favorite was a freebie from a pharmaceutical rep. When it ran out of ink I said (out loud), "oh no. No no no! Don't do this! Nooooo!" I need to find some form of Pens Anonymous ASAP.

Sign me up for Pens Anonymous too! I LOVE office supplies! Office Max/Depot are like crack to me :o I haven't found a favorite yet, but I bought a 10 pack from the dollar store, and those are the best darn pens! And, if I lose them I'm not gonna cry about it because it cost me 10 cents! I bought 3 packs, I hope that's enough!

My faves are by far still the uniball JetStream pens. I got some of their multipens from Jetpens.com, and absolutely ADORE them! I just had to buy refills for them though. That's the only part that sucks, you have to buy refills online from Jetpens as well.

I was a pen freak long before I became a nurse. I am currently loving the Zebra Z-grip Max. Be careful though it comes in regular ink and gel. The gel ones are terrible, but the regular ink ones are amazing. The cheaper version, the Z-grips are pretty great too.[/quote']

I agree. .I dont understand why im a pen fanatic but I am and this pen is amazimg
