Looking for the PERFECT ink pen ;)

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Hi, I've been trying to find the perfect ink pen, so I can buy several to stash in my locker and always have one. It seems ink pens tend to be hard to come by some days. I don't want to waste a bunch of money buying new pens all the time that I don't really like.

I do NOT want Gel ink. I prefer a medium point that writes dark and smoothly, not too big around and not real small.

Do you have a favorite pen???

I really like the Zebra Z-grips fine points, but my hands are too big for them. My current favorite is a giveaway from my hospital's ED admission desk. It's not a fine point, but it's a ballpoint that writes like a gel, and has a nice rubber grip. Seems like it comes with a month's worth of ink, though. Even better, my bank has the very same pen with their logo instead. They're kind enough to provide me with one every time I go to the drive-through. Enough to keep my larcenous CNAs well-stocked. j

Are you kidding me? The other nurses are going to rip them off...the patients are going to rip them off...and the docs are going to rip them off. I, too, am a pen freak, but for work purposes, my favorite is the freebie that won't hurt my feelings to see leaving in someone else's pocket.:twocents:

Yeah, I agree- for some reason I come to work with 4 pens and leave with 0. Once in awhile I'll be some good pens though and I feel rich.

the perfect pen...is the freebie one that no one else claims. greatest thing about the ER is that we all leave our pens sit and then we all take each others' pens! best thing in the world. the best free ones I have run across have been the Uniball's and Papermate retractables. cheap and write well for what ya have to do.

I'm digging the Mitsubishi UM-151 (0.5 mm but I think you can get them bigger). Nice and pointy. Oh, the cap says Uni-Ball Signo DX but I found them on ebay as the Mitsubishi.

Mmmm, pens. I wish I lived in a stationary store.

I also love pens, have been a pen freak for a long time. My favorite is the Pilot Dr. Grip. I love the cushy, squishy grips on my pens.

Hmmm, was thinking, I wonder if there is a correlation between pen junkies and becoming a nurse.....

I still have a pen from UHAUL, bet darn pen ever.

Papermate Profile retractable ball point pen. The best! And not expensive.

Uniball Signo 207 Check Protective Ink in 0.7 medium or 0.5 micro.
