Looking For Other Pa Nurses!!!!

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

Hello all,

I'm taking this chance to meet other nurses in PA. Who knows, maybe I've meant some of you. I graduated a year ago, and meant a lot of other nursing students in clinicals, and such.

Anyway, if you're interested in joining this discussion to meet others in PA who are recent grads., leave some comments.

Anyway, I'm wondering what kinds of hours everyone else is working, where people are working, what kinds of skills you're all learning, and your current job satisfaction, etc. Right now, I work quite a number of hours in a cardiovascular surgical unit. It's pretty good experience. Sometimes I find I get taken advantage of to work a lot of hours, but most times I don't mind, cuz I get a lot of good experience. I may move on to CRNA school someday. Any body else have grad. school aspriations?

Anyway, if you're a recent grad. or from PA, join the discussion, and let people know what's out there for new grads.

Thanks,

Hi I was born and raised in Butler, PA. About 35miles north of Pittsburgh............GO STEELERS:heartbeat:yeah:

I have lived in Northern Kentucky for the past 3.5yrs. 20mins across the river from Cincinnati. There isn't a more beautiful city than Pittsburgh(I'm a bit partial though)!

The first year we moved here the Steelers won the super bowl against the Cincinnati Bengals so our Steeler flag didn't go over too well with our neighbors. Actually the people here are very nice but they don't know how to drive in the snow:eek:, not like we Pittsburghers! They love their chili here:chuckle! I didn't read through all the threads on here to see if any one else is from Butler. Let me know if you are!

Debbie:nurse:

PS: We are going home this weekend to see our grandchildren. That is the hardest part of living here, 5.5hrs away. :sniff:

Do I envy you living in kentucky! You live in some beautiful horse country there. I live near butler now.

Specializes in LTC/hospital, home health (VNA).

Hello Debbie - I was born in Kittanning. We lived in Worthington for awhile. My grandmother still lives in Branchton/Slippery Rock. Been to Cranberry Mall quite a few times. I still love going to visit her and the area! Yep...GO STEELERS!!!!!!!

Ditto fellow nurses. Have you ever been to see the House built on a Rock? It's called "Falling Waters," and is very very interesting.

I'm afraid my daughter and her fiancee are going to do the same. We will most likely never move back. We are at a stage of life where with his job we can live anywhere in the US and of course me being a nurse isn't an issue. Now we have a 13yr old at home so we are most likely to stay here till he graduates, they have a great school district and have a lot of healthy activities for the youth. We enjoyed our visit home this past weekend, great to watch the Steelers among Steeler fans and they beat the Bengals, yeah! The leaves are beautiful this time of year.

I think I may have responded to this post a few years back, but will do so again to say hello to all the other PA nurses . Im still working agency nursing (Nursestaffing aka KForce) in the Pittsburgh area, most recently at the Allegheny County Jail............What an experience! I never realized that jail was so large! I enjoy the workers there, and they have been so helpful to me in the last several weeks I have been there. Real life issues have been in the way lately, and havent posted in the past few yrs....Hopefully that will change.:typing
