I would like to know if anyone know of LPN classes offered in NYC. I would like to take the classes, however I have been having some difficult time locating an LPN school in NYC. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I went to the Department of Education's LPN Program in Manhattan (Mid-Manhattan Adult Learning Center), whatever you do, DONT GO THERE! For the first semester, everything went well. The second semester was total hell. We had no Pharmacology class, no Med-Surg class, no OB class, which I feel are the most important classes overall. We were basically given books and told that we were on our own. It was horrible. So far, my former classmates have been passing their NCLEX exams, I don't take mine until November 2006, I am studying like crazy with no help of the school! Even tho the tuition was cheap ($1800) for the 10 months of class, it was not worth it! I suggest you try to get into Bronx Community College or any other Community College with STRUCTURE! I can't blame the teachers, as they were underpaid and doing their best. They were shortstaffed, and we were shorted of knowledge. But we made the best of it and tried to do what we could..study groups, review notes, etc. If it is your last choice to go to the Department of Ed's program, go to the Brooklyn school!
I passed the c-net exam for the Bklyn/Manh Board of Ed LPN
programs. I am waiting to hear from them about the next
step in the screening process. Are there 1 or 2 interviews?
Are there any additional tests (Science, perhaps) or essays
I should prepare for? I would appreciate any information you
could provide.

I took the same test yesterday for the Manh. class. I heard that they call you in for a test on science. Good luck
I'm wondering if there is in fact a science test. When I spoke with
someone from the 'learning center' she said there was a 2nd test,
in READING & MATH. Another candidate, however, said
she knew someone who went through the program and took
a preliminary SCIENCE test. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
Does any one knows about HAFA inc-nursing programs. Located in Long Island /Floral Park/.
