Lonestar nursing applicants for spring 2016

Published

Hi guys! I will be applying for lonestar cyfair and a few others in the spring of 2016. I was wondering if anyone had started studying for the hesi and also what grades have they gotten so far in their classes!

Do you guys apply online for cyfair? I'm new to this application process.

Wellp I was supposed to retake ENGL to boost my score for the application HOWEVER since I listened to my advisor and did ALL prereqs for the ADN and BSN program I went over my hours for financial aid and they refused to let me use my scholarships until I filed for an appeal...which isn't open until the 15th of this month for the fall. So NOW i'm either stuck at 6.29 or retake my HESI and pray for a miracle high score. -.- Either way, I don't feel like I have much options or hope at this point. 7.0 and up were accepted and I will be far down the list for alternates. Though I did see SOMEONE last spring application period applied with a 6.19 and was accepted. o.o

@lemonashley what score did you make on the hesi? I'm going to retake mine as well

I don't think there will be as many applicants for the spring as the fall. this thread would have a lot more people I think if so. which may be a good thing maybe more will come closer to the deadline

Well I took my HESI yesterday, and I passed with a 90.4 overall. I struggled the most with A&P considering I've never taken the class and still managed to pass A&P with a 76(just barely lol). So on that part of my scoring grid for the nursing application, it should give me a 3.61 or so. I'm already working on an A for A&P so hopefully I'll be at a 7.6 for Montgomery. Keeping my fingers crossed that the score would be enough to get me in.

Congrats! Thats an awesome score...how did you study for the anatomy section?

7.6 is a great score! you should be fine good luck with a&p course. is it a summer course?

I think that's a great score. You shouldn't have a problem getting in. Congrats

Hi guys! I just found your thread, and am considering applying to LoneStars ADN program as a backup if I dont get into a BSN prgram- could you guys please go over the main requirements and deadlines? Im in central Houston (near downtown) so im thinking of applying to one of Lonestars programs in the north side of town. I heard you have to have your shots and CPR and stuff done by the time you apply, is that true?

Thanks! How long is the Lonestar program? Like, how many semesters? And do they go through summer or take a break in the summer?

4 semesters at cyfair all others have 5. So I think that means cy fair teaches through the summer
