Lonestar Fall 2013 hopefuls

Hi everyone!

I just submitted my application for the Fall 2013 Lonestar College basic track ADN program. LSC-Montgomery is my first choice, followed by LSC-North Harris, and LSC-Tomball.

I applied with an 11.81. Has anyone else out there applied, or are you preparing to apply?

Looking forward to starting a supportive and informative Lonestar thread, as applicants have the past few years

Ro, where do you live? Do you live by a community college that offers a nursing program? Lonestar has a great website for nursing and will give you all of the information you will need to know and where/how to start. http://www.lonestar.edu

Hi everyone. I have two questions for y'all.

1. Is anyone considering waiting to buy books until we have been given our schedules? I'm considering buying books just for the Falls semester first.

2. Does anyone have an idea of how much Houston hospitals are paying experienced CNAs/PCTs?

I think they said we will use all books every semester..at least thats what they said at NH orientation. Also they said at camp Wanna Win the current nursing students will give you an idea of which books are needed and used the most

Bought scrubs clinical and lab today. Do we have to wear white shoes with the lab scrubs?

Brilaneb I do not know about the white shoes. Mine have not came in yet. R u wearing scrubs in the sure class?

A friend of mine was just accepted and I want to help her out with books. Can someone please help me with the required book list for North Harris Basic Track Fall 2013? THANKS!

It is ridiculously long.i could scan and email or fax. Or she could email nh nursing department and get it.

Brilaneb I do not know about the white shoes. Mine have not came in yet. R u wearing scrubs in the sure class?

I have lecture and lab Monday and Tuesday so I bought some scrubs to wear outside the clinical set. I just don't like the white shoes.

Thanks for the reply! My friend has the list at home, but she's went on vacation and it's at her home. I'm asking for the list because I just graduated from Montgomery (this May) and wanted to offer some of my books to her, if required.

I know I won't have all the books she will need, as I was a transition student and she's basic track. I'm already giving her: 2 pairs of scrubs, a scrub jacket, a pair of white Danskos and the white scrubs for pinning.

These are the books I have. Can you please tell me if any of the following are on the required list:

***PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT trying to sell these books. I'm GIVING them to a friend, if she needs them. Otherwise, I'll donate them to a Montgomery student, because I KNOW they need them.

If she is going to North Harris the book list is different.

Yea, some of those books are from Montgomery's book list but not NH, their books are different.

NH students have you had time to look at which clinical site you might consider choosing?

NH students check your emails for clinical sites and days. You need to choose your preferences 1-3 and have them back by the 18th
