Thanks for the reply! My friend has the list at home, but she's went on vacation and it's at her home. I'm asking for the list because I just graduated from Montgomery (this May) and wanted to offer some of my books to her, if required. I know I won't have all the books she will need, as I was a transition student and she's basic track. I'm already giving her: 2 pairs of scrubs, a scrub jacket, a pair of white Danskos and the white scrubs for pinning. These are the books I have. Can you please tell me if any of the following are on the required list: ***PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT trying to sell these books. I'm GIVING them to a friend, if she needs them. I know how you feel, but I hate to tell you that we called Mont yesterday to ask where they are in the process. Apparently our applications are still at the systems office being reviewed and they are hoping to be done with them by the end of NEXT FREAKIN WEEK! I cannot believe its taking this long!!! I just try to tell myself good things come to those who wait, even though we don't really have another choice!

Yeah, they said it would be the first week of April b/c of Spring Break. Boo! l'm hopeful you'll get in too, because I heard from another student that on the 9th at 4:00 they still didn't have enough ppl. And that means that after Tomball accepts all their ppl, they will fill spots at Montgomery. I hope we both get good news!! -Paula

Hey Ali, I have some potentially good info for you. Did you put Mont as your first or second choice? If you put it as your first, you should be getting in! This is why: I called last Thursday and according to the lady at the front desk (at Mont) she said they still needed applicants. Keep in mind this was the day before the app period closed. You know they only take 30 and according to what I was told, as of Thursday, they only had 25. Unless 5 or more applied on Friday, you should be okay. Either way, God has a plan! In reference to Hesi, before you go to take the test, you must create a login on the Elsiver website. Pring the testing ticket and take it to the cashiers office, pay the fee and then go to the testing center at your school. They will give you a piece of paper telling you which sections of the exam to take. It consists of A&P, Math, Grammar, Vocab and reading comprehension. The average of the last three divided by 25 will be your score that is taken to complete your overall score out of 12 possible points. For example, if you make an average of 90 on these three sections, you will divide 90 by 25 for a 3.6 out of a possible 4 points for your Hesi exam. When taking the exam, you sit down at the computer and you can choose which portion you want to take first. I took A&P first because this for me was the most difficult one. The downfall, is that once you've completed the questions it gives you, (usually 15-25, but it's random) it gives you the score RIGHT AWAY for that section. So, lets say you take it and, God forbid, you make a 70 on the A&P, then honestly, there is no point in continuing (unless you want exposure to the test to see how it works). You MUST make at least a 75 on each portion in order to pass. And if you take it more than once, they take your most recent scores. I had to take it twice because I failed the A&P the first time around. I hope this helps, but there is all the detailed info you need at the following page. Best of luck! If you're still interested I may have some advice. I am an honors student an part of the requirement to graduate with honors is to do some volunteer work. My mentor brought up an option that I'm not sure if I could handle, but I thought I'd pass it along to you. According to Medicare rules, Hospice facilities (end of live, mostly in home care) MUST have a team of people in order to be reimbursed by Medicare. My mentor has works as a hospice nurse in the past and that's how she knows this info. Part of that team includes doctors, nurses, clergy, etc. But where you might fit it is that they REQUIRE one volunteer on each team. You might want to check into that. Look online in your area for hospice facilities and give them a call. I'm sure most places are in dire need of this volunteer, as this is how they get paid. I don't know if it's for you, but you may want to give it a try. I've found in my 6 years as an LVN you'd be surprised at where having a nursing degree can take you and you never know where God might want you to be! I hope this helps! well, imay be a bit different from your traditional nursing student. i went to lvnschool at a private nursing school in hunstville. this means that nothing ofmine transferred. i graduated in 2005 and i've been working ever since. i hadto start last spring and retake all of the pre-reqs, because we signed a paperacknowledging that none of our courses transferred. so, i retook everything andi'm praying to get in. however, i was 23 when i went to lvn school and i'm 29now. i'm married and have a two year old. being an lvn for six years has beengreat. i've gotten experience and been able to pay my bills. i don't know whatyour life circumstances are but in my humble opinion, i would advise all youngpeople to go directly through the adn program. you will hear a lot of lvn's saythat once they started making money, they kinda got settled and going back toschool isn't a priority. as with me, it took five years and having a littlegirl to make me realize how badly i wanted more for myself and for her! if youdon't have to start working right away, i would take your time and apply to theadn program. although i do understand not everyone has mom/dad or a spouse topay their bills. if money is a critical issue, as with a lot of people (myselfincluded), becoming an lvn first is awesome. i have a deep appreciation becausei've done the "grunt" work and i know how to do it well. so one daywhen i'm in management, i will step in and help my employee’s medicate patientsor change linens, both because i know how and because i know how overworked youcan get. i love the fact that i'm an lvn. i'm very proud of it and you shouldbe too, should you decide to take that route. whatever you decide, i pray godgrants you the wisdom and patience to achieve every single dream you have!! ihope this helps, best of luck!!

Hey y'all! I've applied to LSC Montgomery for the Transition Program that begins June 2012. I was just wanting to see how many others have done the same and just connect with my (hopefully) soon to be classmates! When I turned in my app a few weeks ago they told me not many ppl have applied yet, but the majority wait until the last few days to do so. The deadline is March 9th, so according to the schools website, we should find out by the end of March if we were accepted or not. I HAD to ask when I turned in my app if my score was okay or should I give up hopes of going to Montgomery. I had 11.22...(can't remember the last 3 numbers) but the receptionist said that was pretty good and that last year that particular score was number 8 out of 30. If you don't mind to divulge, what did you get out of your 12 points? I'm just interested and scared and excited. Let me know if you guys have any inside info that I'm missing.
