I didn't see a thread on here for Fall 2011 applicants to the Lonestar nursing program, so I decided to start one.:) I will be applying to Montgomery as my first choice and am really nervous about taking the HESI test with all of the added components. I applied to Kingwood this past application period with an 11.5652 and got an alternate spot, competition was fierce. So, here I go again, hopefully I'll get in this time around. I'm really nervous about the A&P portion of the HESI. I feel like I've forgotten alot of what I learned. Any suggestions from anyone?
Good luck to all applying:)
I believe this semester is the first time those sections have been required. I missed one but only had English and math. For the math I suggest reviewing fractions, decimals, and the metric system. For English you should go to the library and spend an hour or so with the HESI test-prep book. The English question format is very easy but can be kind of confusing if you've never seen that format before.
Just curious! On the reading part did you have passages such as summer olympic games, phobia, one dollar bill, factory, Glass, lightning, heathcare, sleep, food etc.I know is basic, am just curios on what i need to read on the A&P.I'll be happy if you can be of help. Am taken the test this friday.
Please any more help
Some of us in pharmacology class talked it about it yesterday. Everyone who hasn't taken it yet wants to know about the A&P section but it's hard to explain. I thought of 1 question I had but a girl next to me said she didn't have any like that but she also said she has been studying her A&P since last summer. So my conclusion is that the hesi is like everything else in school: Some are strong in vocab, or math or science & some are strong in all if them. I suck at math mainly because I fret about it, so during math tests I have a lot of anxiety, but my strong suit is reading & vocab. I had a 100 in 2 of those sections, but I barely passed the A&P with 76%. I think that is mainly because there are only 30 questions. So if you miss more than 4 q's, your % will be closer to the cut off of 75%. The great thing though you see your grade immediately after you submit each section. So I took the A&P first because I was worried about that the most, so when I saw my grade of 76% I was bummed for a few seconds, but happy I passed and didn't really give a crap about the score, so I quickly dove into the English comp section, because I am only applying at Lone Star, and unlike others who are also applying for BSN programs (like a lady who sits next to me in Micro), my science grade does not matter. More than likely no one can tell you what your questions on the A&P section will be, because I havepersonally spoken with several people, no 3rd party "someone told me that..." and it seems that everyone has had some different questions on their A&P section, but the math, reading, vocab and grammar sections appear to be pretty much the same. Perhaps because they just added the A&P sections this year and it's only 30 q's and LSC is well aware that we all talk about the hesi. But that is just my opinion and you know what they say about everyone having one
Don't forget there's only 11 days left to take the HESI
Good luck :flwrhrts:

Just a quick question, do I need to have CPR completed BEFORE applying or can it wait? Also, is anyone else having trouble getting your information entered into the system? I got someone to enter my courses in but they forgot my Speech class
And although I have sent my HESI scores TWICE now (I took it for another college), they still aren't in the system. I don't want info not entered to be the reason I don't get in.
